Background:
All teachers will be trained in minimizing disruptions and managing behaviour in their classes.
Details:
setting appropriate class expectations,
creating classroom procedures,
use of a warning system,
behaviour management without class disruptions,
motivation for good social behaviour,
raising responsibilities in the students,
reasons and types of behaviour exhibited,
reinforcers and guidance,
effective positive feedback,
class behaviour contracts and logbooks and referrals.
Emphasis on positive disciplining by verbal, written and material rewards rather than punitive.
ECV use “Smilies”
Stamps of “Smilies and Grumpies”available
be integrated with “Star” charts.
1. General procedures
1. All incidents should be filled in the incident report
2. All sensitive and confidential matters should go to the Point of Trust and the principal
3. All incidents and misbehaviour in level 2 require the BSO’s involvement.
4. All matters requiring administrative attention should go to the vice principal
5. For case teaching/non-teaching staff involvement administrative vice principal and/or
HR officer
6. In case of assistance required get from the nearest adults
7. Issue going to the Vice Principal or the Principal needs written reports
8. BSO acts as a point person
9. Principal is aware of Behaviour contracts and warning letters
copy filed in the student’s personal file.
a. Level 1
teacher will be able to handle
students write their reflection
take further support from Level Coordinator or (BSO)
maintain class log book.
b. Level 2:
The BSO will handle
plan for modification: n include referrals and counselor involvement
follow ups
consult level coordinator
give a “Warning Card” besides the other consequences,
Get signed
Provided counseling and therapy
Monitor consequences
Follow up by the BSO in presence of the Vice Principal.
C. Level 3:
Referred to the school VP
Take the principal’s or the Disciplinary Committee suggestion if needed.
Efforts for correction and further course of action
Documented in a “Behaviour Contract”
Improvement plan and follow-ups.
d. Level 4:
Might be expelled from the school
Handed over to the legal authorities
