SCENE 1
WENDY’S ROOM
The curtain opens to reveal a children’s room with a window in the middle. On one bed, Wendy is
reading a pirate story to her brother, John.

JOHN: Wendy!
WENDY: What?
JOHN: I’m scared!
WENDY: Do you not want to know how it ends?
JOHN: What happened to Peter?
WENDY: When captain Hook was about to defeat Peter Pan, he took his precious pocket
watch out and shouted: “On the third day of the month of the half moon, at quarter
past sevenin the evening Neverland time, shall be the end of Peter Pan!” He was
getting closer and closer to Peter when suddenly, a crocodile bit his watch along
with his hand off!
JOHN: You will never beat me!
DAD: What is all this noise? It´s too late to be playing!
WENDY: Dad…
DAD: You are not a child anymore so stop putting those ridiculous fantasies into your
brother´s head. I have told you many times before that the example you set will
help define him as a person when he grows up.
JOHN: But I don´t want to grow up!
DAD: Do you see what I mean?
JOHN: I want to be like Peter!
DAD: I don´t want to hear any more nonsense about Peter Hook and Captain Pan.
WENDY: It is not like that, father. It´s Peter Pan and Captain Hook!
DAD: Enough! Wendy! Tonight, you will sleep alone! Enough of these ludicrous tales!
Come along John!
WENDY: But dad!
DAD: I don´t want to hear another peep out of you!

(John and Dad go out. Wendy sings.)

(Wendy falls asleep. Peter enters through the window.)

PETER: Tinkerbell! Oh! Tinkerbell! Where are you?(Whispering.) Tinkerbell! Tinker…!

(Peter plays in the room.)

PETER: Tinkerbell!

(A jingle is heard.)

PETER: Aha! I found you! Freeze! Stop! Hahaha! Where did you go? Ok, little girl, I will not
play with you anymore! I have plenty of friends! Do you know what I will do? I will
play with my shadow!

(Peter dances with his shadow. Wendy wakes up.)

WENDY: Who´s there?

PETER: Don´t you know who I am?
WENDY: How did you get in?
PETER: By flying.
WENDY: Yes, boy, sure… I don´t believe you, you´re lying.
PETER: What is your name?
WENDY: Wendy Moira Ángela Darling, and… yours?
PETER: Peter Pan.
WENDY: Peter Pan! It can´t be!
PETER: The one and only!
WENDY: My pleasure!

(Wendy extends her hand but Peter doesn't understand.)

(Wendy searches for Tinker Bell around the room.)

PETER: (Bragging.) I can see you´ve heard about about me. Which makes sense, I
am VERY famous.
WENDY: Do you want help looking for Tinkerbell?
PETER: Yes, because I´ve lost her again... Let´s find her!

(Wendy is outraged.)

PETER: Don´t be mad…

(Tinker Bell interrupts.)

PETER: Tinkerbell! What is wrong? Leave her alone! Stay here!

(Peter keeps Tinker Bell in his hat.)

PETER: Wendy… You have to love yourself so that everyone else will love you as well.
WENDY: Really?
PETER: Of course!
WENDY: You deserve a kiss.
PETER: What?

(Peter finds a thimble.)

PETER: This is a kiss. Ha! And you thought I didn´t know. Do you want one?

(Wendy nods. She closes her eyes. Peter gives her a thimble. Wendy is disillusioned and keeps her
thimble.)

PETER: Wendy, Do you wanna come with me?

WENDY: Me?
PETER: Yes, to Neverland.
WENDY: But, what about my family? My brothers and sisters are here…
PETER: Neverland is better than all of this.
WENDY: And what about Captain Hook?
PETER: He is silly and he won´t come near you, and if he does, I will cut his other hand
off.
WENDY: But!...
PETER: Get ready! You just have to think think lovely wonderful thoughts!
WENDY: Like what?
PETER: Like me!
WENDY: Oh! You are so...!
PETER: Imagine a better place!

(Peter throws fairy powders on Wendy.)

PETER: Are you ready? Give me your hand! Take a deep breath, smile from ear to ear and
follow me.

(Peter encourages Wendy to jump out of the window.)

PETER: To Neverland!

(Peter jumps out of the window. Dark.)

THE ISLAND OF NEVERLAND

(You can see the jungle and some trees. Smee appears. He has a compass and a map.)

SMEE: I am lost! Ow! If he finds out, he will kill us!

(Smee is impatient. Noodle and Cecco enter with shovels, sacks and blankets. Smee doesn't see
them. Everyone clashes.)

SMEE: Useless pirates! Come on! Come on! Quick!

(They release the shovels, sacks and blankets.)

SMEE: Dig!
NOODLER: The treasure isn´t here!
CECCO: We wont find anything here.
SMEE: It doesn´t matter! Dig! Let´s get to work!
NOODLER: Why does Captain Hook want to move the chest to another place?
SMEE: So that the lost boys won´t be able to find it.
NOODLER: The lost boys don´t want money!
SMEE: But it´s like a game for Peter Pan. If he wants to make Captain Hook angry, hewill
steal the treasure and throw it into the see for the mermaids to make bright
“moidores” necklaces.

NOODLER: And… What if the treasure isnt here?

fight each other.)

CECCO: Let me do it!

SMEE: Stop! This isn´t helping! Bring an empty chest!
NOODLER AND CECCO: What?
SMEE: We will make Captain Hook believe that we have dug up the treasure. Bring the
chest!
NOODLER: I swear on my corrupt hands that if he discovers us I will find the way to strangle
you!

(Noodler and Cecco go looking for the chest. Smee is terrified.)

SMEE: Ow! It´s getting more and more dificult to serve my master day after day!

(Noodler and Cecco bring the chest.)

NOODLER: And now, What?

SMEE: I hope Captain Hook doesn´t look inside the chest … He is coming! Here he is!
NOODLER: Our Captain is here!
CECCO: Hehehe! (CECCO ríe nerviosamente.)
SMEE: Quiet fools, we need to be careful.
HOOK: Smeeeee!
SMEE: Yes, my Captain!
HOOK: Smee! Smee!

SMEE: Yes!

(Hook looks at the sky.)

HOOK: The day I finally lay my hand on you, you little, insignificant green bush with lively
flying legs, I will rip you into little pieces and feed you to my other arch enemy the
crocodile.
SMEE: Yes, the crocodile, my Captain.
HOOK: Yes Smee, the crocodile that still carries my hand with my watch.
SMEE: But thanks to that, we know when he is near, because we can hear the Tick-
Tock, Tick-Tock!

(Hook looks at the sky again.)

SMEE: Over there, my Captain!

HOOK: I don´t see anything, Smee.
SMEE: There! There!
HOOK: Protect my treasure, Smee.
Yes, yes… I will take it to the ship. (Dragging the chest.)
Stop!
HOOK: Peter Pan! Peter Pan! I see you! I got you! Who is that girl?

(Hook shoots several times. A bird falls dead. Smee tries to eat it.)

(Hook opens the chest very happy but is disappointed.)

SMEE: Maybe Peter Pan stole it.
HOOK: How did he steal it?
SMEE: I dont know, my Captain…
HOOK: Thunder and lightning!

(Hook is very angry. He tries to restrain himself.)

HOOK: Smee, take everything to the ship and get the crew ready!
SMEE: Yes, my Captain!

(Hook picks up the spyglass. It starts to rain. Drums are heard and a sweet voice sings.)

HOOK: What is that horrible sound? Ah, yes! The young indian, Tigridia. She is the the
indian redskin leader´s daughter. They say that she is madly in love with Peter
Pan.

(Hook gets happy.)

HOOK: Now you will see, Peter Pan, how clever I can be. (Se esconde.) I´m
finally going to catch Peter Pan!

(Hook hides. When Tigrida comes singing Hook kidnaps her.)

HOOK: Wild young girl! Time to face the devil!

TIGRIDIA: I am not afraid of you!
HOOK: How is that possible if I even scare myself? Ha, ha, ha!
TIGRIDIA: No! Let me go! Help! Help! Leave me alone!
HOOK: Absolutely! Shout, shout aloud! Where are you,little grasshopper?

(Peter and Tinker Bell enter. Tinkerbell unfastens Hook's belt. Hook's pants fall to the ground.)

PETER: Captain Hook! Those aren´t very good manners! This is unacceptable!
HOOK: ¡Peter Pan! (Hook grabs his gun.) I can see this will end very badly for you!
PETER: You have to check your eyes then! Old man!
HOOK: Careful! You little snot-nosed kid!
PETER: You should be worried for your own fate, not mine!

(Hook wounds Peter and catches Tigrida. Wendy takes Peter's sword.)

HOOK: What a shame!... Girl! Drop the sword!

WENDY: But don´t hurt her!

(Wendy drops the sword.)

HOOK: What are you going to do now? You´re in hot water Peter Pan.

(Hook laughs. Suddenly an ICT-TAC sounds.)

WENDY: The clock!

(A crocodile roars. Hooks flees.)

PETER: Bye, bye, codfish! Ha, ha, ha!

(Peter, Wendy and Tigrida laugh.)

TIGRIDIA: Thank you, “fast feet boy ”.

(Drums sound and Tigrida dances. Wendy is jealous.)

They are the lost boys! (To the audience.) Hi! Come on guys, say hello to Wendy!

(Peter and Wendy cheer on the lost children. Smee and Noodler cover Peter's mouth and kidnap
him.)

WENDY: Have you seen Peter? Yes? Which way did theygo? Are you sure? Yes?

(Tinkerbell and Wendy come out.)

(Noodler, Ceco and Smee are cleaning the ship. Hook enters.)

(hook is thoughtful. Suddenly he shoots Noodler. He falls injured. Hook remains at the helm.)

HOOK: Smee… Do you think all children hate me?

SMEE: My Captain! I think…

HOOK: Be honest, Smee…
SMEE: I don´t think that they hate you, I believe they respect you.
HOOK: Barbaque himself was afraid of me… Fear and respect are not the same. And now

(Peter Pan comes in. He is handcuffed and can only jump.)

HOOK: Smee! Free him! Let him go!

SMEE: But sir…

HOOK: Thunder and lightning! Don´t make me repeat myself!

(Smee unleashes Peter.)

HOOK: Smee! Give him your sword!

SMEE: I would like to warn you…

(Peter and Hook fight again. Tinker Bell and Wendy enter and join the fight.)

SMEE: I can´t swim! Please don´t!

WENDY: Get out of here!

(Smee tries to run away with the gold but Wendy stops him. Peter finally defeats Hook.)

PETER: Captain Hook?

WENDY: Leave him, Peter!
PETER: He will always come after us and we will never have peace in Neverland.
WENDY: Peter… I can´t stay here.
PETER: What are you talking about, Wendy?
WENDY: I have to go back home. I have to go on with my life and grow up.

(Peter is dismayed.)

PETER: I will never grow up! I don´t want to be an adult! Don´t go, Wendy!

(Hook rises slowly.)

HOOK: Oh! What a lovely scene! Peter, get used to being responsable, welcome to
adulthood. She will go home and forget all about you. She will continue living and
she will grow old happily until the day she asks herself… Peter Pan? Who is
Peter Pan?

PETER: No, no!

(Peter looks down and Hook hits him.)

WENDY: Peter!

(Peter falls to his knees and Smee forces Wendy to kneel as well.)

HOOK: What did you think, Pan? Growing up is inevitable.

WENDY: Peter! (Peter doesn't react.)
HOOK: She´s not from here, Peter Pan.
WENDY: Peter, Do you remember what you told me? “You have to love yourself so
everyone else will love you” Do you remember?

HOOK: Bah! What nonsense! Poppycock!

WENDY: Peter, a good person is better than miserable, evil people!

(Wendy shows him the thimble.)

(Peter reacts.

HOOK: Enough!

(Peter jumps and corners Hook. Smee flees.)

HOOK: Nooo! Ok! I surrender!

(Hook gives up.)

PETER: You´re staying right here Captain Hook! You are no more than another scared kid!

Peter hugs Wendy.

(Hook tries to attack them again but Tinkerbell stops him.)

HOOK: I hate fairies!

(Hook catches Tinker bell and wounds her.)

PETER: Tinkerbell! ¡Nooo!

HOOK: This story ends here!

WENDY: Not at all! Take care of Peter!
PETER: Will you visit us?
WENDY: To tell the lost boys stories! (Pointing to the public.)
