Lesson Objectives TSWBAT read and offer constructive criticism to a classmates’
paper.
Sequence of activities Students should print out copies of their paper and switch
with a classmate. The classmate and student should take
turns reading the paper aloud to each other. Silently, they
should then read the other person’s paper and use a
pen/pencil to offer edits. Be kind and accurate! Remember
the elements of formal writing we talked about! Final drafts
due Thursday!
Differentiation Process: Group work/ peer editing rather than teacher editing
Assessment Final paper due 4-27; points given for offering at least one piece
of feedback to a partner

Sequence of activities Silent work… which should be a challenge for some of them.
Pass out introductory Shakespeare packet and give them class
time today and tomorrow to complete. They must work silently;
they may use headphones as long as they are being productive.
SOME QUESTIONS REQUIRE THEM TO DO RESEARCH!
Look the answers up, don’t just make them up.
Differentiation Process: Students may complete packet in whatever order they
wish, as long as it gets done.

Julius Caesar.
Sequence of activities Go through PowerPoint explaining the background of the play
and major characters. Emphasize that students need to take their
own notes- write down whatever helps them. Spend time
differentiating between the major main characters and their
motives. Give quiz on characters and allow peer grading as long
as time allows.
Differentiation Product: No guided notes; they can use whatever note-taking
method works best for them.
Assessment: Brief character quiz.
