Vincent Van Gogh was a Dutch Post-Impressionist artist.

Sadly, Van Gogh didn't achieve success during his lifetime...

He was known as a crazy man in his town. Principally because
of the event where he used a knife to cut off his own ear!
That happened because he had an illness that made him hallucinate
and suffer attacks in which he lost counsciousness
He sold only one artwork during his life, but later on
after he died he became really famous in the world of art,
mainly because no one knows yet how he died. There is a
mystery if he killed himself or was killed by someone else...
We can say that this artist could be a role model for us,
because he chose his own life and lived it to the fullest!
Even when people discouraged him, he didn't even think about giving up.
Having said that, many artists have looked to Van Gogh for inspiration.
