Station 4:
•Today we will perform bow exercises in order to make holding the bow more comfortable
Emotional message: it is okay if something is hard at first or if we make a mistake as long as we
try our best

Simplified instruction:
Modify bow hold to just focusing on using the correct hand and grabbing the correct end
Put tape on the end that students will be holding
If students can put fingers in the right place, but tape where their fingers would go, if not, just
have them grip the bottom

-Work on pinky push ups at 1:20, make sure they are holding the bow with their left hand to
keep it steady
-Fingerwave exercise at 2:15, looking around and checking for proper position and relieving
tension
May skip these exercises and just do paintbrushes
Incorporating movement
-As students are doing these exercises, can give one on one attention especially with the
stations
-Paint brushes at 2:50
-Go on if there is extra time, or go back and do one that students were having trouble with
