o Re: Staff Working from Home
▪ CEO, Samantha Mason, asked Matthew to give a little background on the
proposed arrangement regarding staff working from home.
▪ Matthew mentioned that had a staff meeting with the team and the team
suggested that they like to feel that their working from home was endorsed
by some kind of policy view. This is because they had slightly different jobs
from some of their colleagues and they do a lot of writing and do not
necessarily answer the phones.
▪ Samantha said that they have never objected to staff working from home and
asked Matthew why there is a need to put a policy in place on this matter.
▪ Matthew reasoned out that there can be some issues and other colleagues
may feel differently.
▪ Samantha asked the opinions of the rest of the members.
▪ John said that it is just another pint sky scheme that’s been put forward. Hea
also mentioned about costing, providing computers for the staff and some
insurance applications.
▪ Alex said that she does not see costing as much of an issue given that most
of the staff have computers at home, so that would be one less thing to
worry about. He thinks it is a very good idea for some to work from home,
particularly those with families.
▪ Rachel said that she does not think it is a good idea for some of her team to
work from home and it is going to be difficult since she work in
administration.
▪ Samantha asked John regarding the insurance angle if the company would be
liable if the employee sustained any injury at home.
▪ John answered yes and that is for safety. He thinks that they should also look
further into this.
▪ Matthew also mentioned that there is a competitive market out there and that
flexibly working from home is increasing.
▪ Samantha explained that working from home may be effective to other
teams, but it will not work with Rachel’s team in the administration.
