Pursuing law school definitely needs a lot of endurance and courage. As what most
people say, it’s survival of the fittest. Actually, last two days ago my sister asked me, “Kaya diay
na nimo?” after blurted out how physically and mentally exhausted I am after memorizing lots of
articles and reading tons of cases, but her question made me pause for a while and thought to
myself, the classes just started and I need to be persistent no matter what. I know most members
of my family doubt my capabilities but I could never blame them since I am a bit stubborn and
lazy at home but even though that’s the case, they never stopped supporting me financially and
they never gave up on me and my goals despite all of our differences and that’s what I’m most
grateful for. Undeniably, law school requires sacrifices – sacrifices that you never thought of
giving up, like your time for family, friends, social life, and even our personal romantic
relationships. And there may be a time that you even lose yourself in the process of becoming the
best lawyer, and that’s the most challenging part of all. There comes a time to question if you
have made the right decision to enter law school or if this is what you really want. But then again
as what the father of Erik (portrayed by Carlo Aquino) in the movie said that you are your owns
enemy, so I just need to believe fully on myself and my potential and my own timeline since
sometimes I get anxious why I applied late and all of my friends were already ahead of me, but
there’s this line in the movie where Carlo Aquino said and struck me, and it goes, “It doesn’t
matter where you start, it only matter how you end.”, and this line gives me the hope to carry on
whatever life’s hindrances may be.
