ANFLO SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM PRIORITIZES IP STUDENTS

FOR S.Y. 2023-2024
Embracing the IP learners through giving of full scholarship, strengthens enrolment
and participation in schools of Pantukan District.
“Antonio Florendo Foundation especially designed scholarship program for IP
students in respond to their educational needs and growing discrimination in the community.”
Said Elacio Vineda, the scholarship department head.
Educating IP students is a way to preserve their culture, to develop their skills in
order to help other IPs in their community; this can also eliminate public misconceptions
about them such as illiterate, rebels and lack of abilities.
“As we observed, most of our IP students are motivated and striving despite their
different upbringing compared to their classmates. As a result, they excels in both academic
and non-academic field.” Noime C. Castil, Grade VI-Adviser, explained.
Meanwhile, the foundation led by Vineda, have gathered the data of 1,000 qualified
scholarship grantees in Grades 7 to College within the municipality of Pantukan last month of
March of the present school year.
“God heard my prayers every night that though we are poorest of the poor, at least
one of my children will finish and will never experience those struggles we have before as
their parents. With the success of this scholarship program, people will look at us, IPs, as their
equal and not their below.” Sheila Mae Labos, parent and a member of Manobo tribe.
The scholars will be assisted with full tuition and miscellaneous fee, uniform and
school supplies allowance amounted to 3,000 pesos quarterly, all these benefits will be given
to the students who maintain an average of 85% in their grades
“We are very thankful to the ANFLO foundation for initiating this program, now
others IP like me will now be given a chance to free education and brighter future, this means
that IP community will never be belittled anymore.” Norhabib Agcong, incoming Grade VII
students of Bon-Temple Elementary School.
The ANFLO Foundation put hopes in the hearts of all IP students who wished not
only for their own betterment but also for their community. “We may not totally eliminate
discrimination but through this free access to education for our IPs we can convey to other
people that indeed education is for all,” Chuchie Ferrando-Yog expressed, District
Coordinating Principal.

ANFLO: Namahagi ng scholarship sa mga Kabataang Katutubo

Pinangunahan ng tagapamahala at tagapangasiwa ng ANFLO Banana Corporation
ang pamamahagi ng scholarship assistance sa mga kabataang IP na nangangarap ng
masagana at magandang pamumuhay sa tulong ng libre at dekalidad na eduksayon para sa
lahat ng mga katutubong kabataan ng Lungsod ng Pantukan.
 Ito ay nasa ilalim ng Antonio Florendo Foundation at CHED Tulong Dunong
Scholarship Program para sa mga kwalipikadong mag-aaral na IP na nagnanais
makapagtapos ng Kolehiyo sa panuruang taon 2023-2024.
Ikinuwento ni Mayor Jhong Ceniza ang kakulangan ng budget sa edukasyon noong
nakaraang administrasyon ng lungsod, pero malaking tulong ang Kolehiyo ng Pantukan
(KNP) sa lungsod para sa kapakanan ng mga mahihirap at nasa laylayan na kasapi ng IP na
gusting makapag-aral at makapagtapos ng pag-aaral.
Naidagdag pa niya ang malaking pondong kanyang nilaan para sa mga mag-aaral na
IP sa kanyang pamumuno. Itinaas niya sa limang bilyon ang pondo sa edukasyon at
pamamahagi ng 100 scholarship grantees at sa mahigpit na pakikipag-ugnayan at tulong ng
ANFLO Scholarship Program na makatulong sa kabataang IP na makapagtapos ng pag-aaral.
Ang mga kwalipikadong iskolar ay mabibigyan ng libreng tuition at miscellaneous,
uniporme, mga kagamitan sa pag-aaral at allowance. Lahat ng benipisyong ito ay
matatanggap ng katutubong iskolar na di baba sa 85% ang marka sa pagkatuto.
“Ayaw naming lumaki ang mga anak naming na mangmang at walang ambag sa
komunidad. Ayaw naming maliitin, hamakin at insultuhin na kami ang mga IP LANG”,
pahayag ni Charmelyn Vineda, magulang ng mag-aaral na IP. “Malaking tulong ang
programang ito para sa aming lahat na kasapi ng IP,” dagdag pa niya.
Binigyang diin sa programang ito ang karapatan ng bawat batang katutubo na
kilalanin at tulungan ang pagpupursige ng mga kabataang katutubo sa dekalidad na
edukasyon para sa lahat.
Kaya pinangaralan ni G. Antonio Florendo ang mga batang iskolar na mag-aral ng
mabuti dahil ang edukasyon ang siyang makakatulong sa katutubong kabataan at sa
kanilang magulang upang magkaroon ng magandang kinabukasan.
