Reading and Writing Skills in a Nutshell

I have learned a lot from Reading and Writing Skills. Lessons 1 to 6 gave me enjoyment, pleasure, and
excitement from learning new topics and lessons. But what is Reading and Writing? Reading and
Writing are one of the core subjects of the senior high school curriculum. Some examples of the things
that you will learn from taking this subject include Reading and Thinking Strategies across Text. Here are
the things I have learned in reading and writings skill.

One thing I have learned a lot from Reading and Writing Skills is the patterns of development. Narration
is the most basic pattern. The description goes into detail about a specific object, person, or location.
The definition explains not just what something means, but also what something does, what something
is used for, and what something looks like. Comparison and contrast mean finding the similarities and
the differences. Cause and effect explain why a particular event happens. And the Problem and Solution
focus on either the problem or a solution. And the other lesson I learned about is the Explicit and
Implicit Information. Explicit is obvious and apparent while Implicit is not expressed clearly. I also
learned about Hypertextuality and Intertextuality. Hypertext is a software system that is typically
accessed by the internet and modern technology, while intertextuality is the shaping of the text
meaning by another text like books, magazines, etc. Claims are also the subject’s Highlights. A claim is
the writer’s point or position regarding the chosen topic. Examples of this are Claims of Fact, Value, and
Policy.

Reading and Writing is a subject that made me feel that the more you read and write, the more you
broaden your vocabulary and are able to articulate concepts accurately and more effectively to others.
Increasing your ability to communicate also helps make you a better worker or student. It has also made
life itself so much easier because reading and writing are so beneficial for school and for life. Reading
helps me in my mental development and is known to stimulate the muscles of the eyes. Tt is also an
activity that involves greater levels of concentration and adds to the conversational skills of the reader.
