A SHORT LIFE STORY OF PABLO PICASSO


Life Span: 1881-1972

The most influential Painter of 19th century, most famous for his painting and artworks based
movement Cubism. He produced over 50000 artwork. The most expensive painting sold of him
was 104 million $.

INTRODUCTION:

Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist and theatre designer. He
was among the most famous artist of his time also recognized and acknowledge as most
influential artist of 20th century. He explore and create wide range of art techniques. Cubism is
said to have been founded by Picasso. Produced 1885 painting, 1228 sculptures, 2880 ceramics
and 12000 drawings.

Background:

Pablo Picasso was born on 25 October 1881 in Malaga, Spain. His


father who was named Don José Ruiz Blasco was also a painter
and teacher who used to skill and made Pablo learn arts till the age
of 13 and after them he brought him tools of his own to practice
painting and Maria Picasso y Lopez her mother was a domestic
female. HE was the first child of his parents and belong to middle
class family. He at very young age of 14, make into cities most prestigious fine arts college
despite his age, the extraordinary skills made his candidature outstanding.

Achievement:

Pablo father had great expertise in depiction of naturalistic birds and games and this legacy was
then moved to Pablo Picasso too. He was the part of intellect and artist at headquarters EL
QUATRE GATS. His art has colors of revolutions, innovations and experimentations. Many
books had him titled as father of modern arts.

His Career is divided into 2 parts;

The Blue Period


The art shifted towards abstract art from classicism. The blue colors dominated most paintings
and great portrayal of poverty, isolations and anguish using greens and blues.

Rose Period
The era of 1905, with more expression of warmer colours in forms of pinks, beige and
reds.Harmony was expressed through her paintings as more comprises of circus and clowns.

In1907, he dipicted a unique form of painting, LES DEMOISELLES d'Avignon which was 5
prositute beige figures distorted by sharp geometric features.Its was considered as an inspiration
and precursor for CUBISM.

Black Period

The art was majorly influenced by african arts drawing and wood carvings.

1927 onwards, he get into cultural expression of surrealism in aspect of which he created one of
his most finest and famous painitng named Guemica, in which he potrayed his hateness for wars
and bombing destruction that harmed guemican popullation during civil war. His other painitng
depicts deformed shapes and mythological figures.

After WorldWar II, he become political joined Community party and was awarded Lenin Peace
price twice.
