Day of Play at the Children’s Discovery Museum presented by PNC Bank

1. Key Ideas: What does your audience need to know about this subject/focus of promotion?
• Who?
- The families of the Bloomington/Normal area. Target audience is children and their
parents.
• What?
- The Children’s Discovery Museum is setting a day aside to have the children in the local
area to come learn and play together. There will be different activities for the children
and their families to do.
• Where?
- Uptown Normal
• When?
- September 25, 2021 at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Why?
- To allow the children and parents in the area to play and learn together. It gets the children
outside and taking part in engaging activities.
• Benefits
- It gives the community a time to connect and have the children play together. There is also
an opportunity for children 5 to 18 years old to sell their items and promote their
creativity.

2. Objectives:
1. Promote the event on Facebook by September 12, 2021. The
promotions will last throughout the two weeks leading up to the event
day. It should be promoted once a day with an advertisement before a
video or seen while scrolling through the website.
2. Raise attention to the opportunity for children to sell any handmade
items they make. This will be included in the advertisements on
Facebook. This will also be promoted at the local elementary and
middle schools by flyers. They will handed out to the children the
week before the event and flyers will also be hung up around the
school.

- The event is free and located in a prime location. The children get hands on activities while
getting to play outside with their family and friends.

- The event happens on September 26 of 2021. This allows for two weeks to promote the
event.
