I. Objectives
1. Knowledge - after this lesson, students will:
a. Overall:
- Understand common vocabulary and expressions in short, clear dialogues.
Situations include simple explanations, introductions, messages and
announcements
b. In details:
- Have the relevant vocabulary corresponds to the lesson’s topic:
Buying tickets for a film or concert
- Be able to predict the kind of words and style of language the speaker will use
or anticipate the kind of information they are likely to hear
- Be able to focus on a specific kind of information: detail words (number, name
or object) and actively ignore anything that does not sound relevant
2. Skills: Listening
- Predicting content
- Listening for gists - listening for details
3. Attitudes:
- Students don’t have to rely only on notes from teacher’s lecture but have to be
responsible for material that is presented to them.
- Students are expected to ask questions and participate in discussions and
activities to confirm and deepen their understanding.
