ABSTRACT

Wireless network jamming has become a significant threat to network

security in recent years, as malicious users can easily disrupt network
communications by transmitting interfering signals. WiFi jammers are
electronic devices that can be used to disrupt or block WiFi signals in
a specific area. The objective of this project is to design and develop a
WiFi jammer integrated with a smart home system. The WiFi jammer
will be capable of selectively blocking WiFi signals in certain areas
while allowing authorized users to connect to the network. The smart
home system will provide control over the WiFi jammer and allow for
remote monitoring and management. The project will involve
designing and implementing the jamming circuit, developing the
smart home system, and testing the integrated system. This project
will contribute to improving network security and privacy by
providing an effective solution to prevent unauthorized access to
wireless networks.
1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 Overview

Wireless communication has become an integral part of our lives, and Wi-
Fi is one of the most widely used wireless communication technologies.
However, with the increasing number of wireless devices, Wi-Fi networks
are becoming congested, resulting in reduced network performance. In
addition, there is an increasing need for privacy and security, especially
with the growing trend of smart homes. A Wi-Fi jammer is a device that
can disrupt the Wi-Fi signal and prevent it from functioning correctly,
which can be used to mitigate network congestion and enhance privacy and
security.

1.2 Objective and scope

The objective of this project is to design and develop a Wi-Fi jammer that
can be integrated with a smart home. The jammer should be capable of
blocking Wi-Fi signals in a specific area, while allowing authorized
devices to connect to the network. The project's scope includes the design
and modeling of the jammer, the development of a prototype, and the
integration of the jammer with a smart home system.
2. REVIEW OF LITERATURE

2.1 Related works

Several studies have been conducted on the development of Wi-Fi jammers.

These studies have focused on the design and modeling of the jammers and
their impact on network performance. Some of the commonly used jamming
techniques include frequency-hopping, direct-sequence, and pulse jamming.
The studies have shown that Wi-Fi jammers can effectively block Wi-Fi signals,
but their use can also have negative impacts on network performance.

2.2 Problem Identification/Motivation

The increasing number of wireless devices and the growing trend of smart
homes have led to network congestion and security concerns. Wi-Fi jammers
can help alleviate these issues by blocking Wi-Fi signals in specific areas.
However, existing jammers are not integrated with smart home systems, which
limits their effectiveness. Therefore, there is a need to develop a Wi-Fi jammer
that can be integrated with smart homes.
3. DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY

3.1 Working principle

The Wi-Fi jammer will operate on the principle of frequency-hopping, which

involves rapidly changing the frequency of the jamming signal to block Wi-Fi
signals. The jammer will be designed to operate in a specific frequency range,
and it will use a microcontroller to control the frequency-hopping sequence. The
jammer will be equipped with a Wi-Fi module that will allow authorized
devices to connect to the network.

3.1.1 Block Diagram/Model/Flow chart

The block diagram of the Wi-Fi jammer is shown below:

Wi-Fi Jammer Block Diagram

The Wi-Fi jammer will consist of a microcontroller, a Wi-Fi module, an

amplifier, and an antenna. The microcontroller will control the frequency-
hopping sequence, and the Wi-Fi module will allow authorized devices to
connect to the network. The amplifier will increase the power of the jamming
signal, and the antenna will transmit the jamming signal.
4. FURTHER PLAN OF ACTION

The next steps in this project will include the development of the hardware and
software components, testing and validation of the jammer's performance, and
integration with smart home technology. Once the device is fully developed and
tested, it will be made available to the public for use in securing private wireless
networks.
