DEFINING A SMART CITY
• Optimising city functions that promote economic growth, providing / improving
lifestyle of people
• Using technology for analysis of city data
• An infrastructure based around technology
• Environmental revolution
• Better and improved public transport
• Generation of better and quality employment (people able to work within city)
• Surveillance and security – surveying the city using security cameras, street
sensors and store data on cloud to use it for any further study or analysis for
betterment
• Smart city features can also include energy conservation and environmental
efficiencies, such as streetlights that dim when the roads are empty. Such smart
grid technologies can improve everything from operations to maintenance and
planning to power supplies.

• Aside from services, smart cities allow for the provision of safety measures such as
monitoring areas of high crime
• In addition, smart city technology can improve the efficiency of manufacturing,
urban farming, energy use, and more

• The concept of smart cities began as far back as the 1960s and 1970s when the
US Community Analysis Bureau began using databases, aerial photography and
cluster analysis to collect data, direct resources and issue reports in order to direct
services, mitigate against disasters and reduce poverty. This led to the creation of
the first generation of smart cities.

Day 2 analysis and solution

As we can see through pictures the Bara Imam

chowk to Jodbasavna chowk go through
variety of characteristics like commercial shops
to street market

The road width decreases from Bara Imam

chowk to Jodbasavna chowk also the traffic
from bara imam chowk to centre point of
road i.e. beginning of budhwar bazar doesn’t
have that traffic it requires beautification and
green patches andShed demarcation of parking
for market
At budhwar bazar we can have a
demarcated footpath/paved space for the
market to be held. The shed for market can be
renovated / used as parking for all vehicles
and market to be non vehicular spaces

Seismic design deals with the yielding and inelastic behaviour of structural element which are detailed to exhibit such behaviour
during earthquake. The structure is designed with sufficient strength to behave elastically during earthquake. Seismic design of
multistoried RC building is to withstand the ground motion caused during the earthquake. Inorder to design an earthquake
resistant structure an Engineer must have a well knowledge about various seismic design codes. In this paper literatures of various
researches were studied. Those papers give more information about the static and dynamic analysis done on various types of
structures. The use of software's in seismic analysis will reduce the time consumption and errors in analysis and design of the
structure. The researchers used various countries codes to evaluate the seismic performance of the structure. The parameters
such as displacement, base shear, storey drift, time period, axial and shear force bending moment were studied. From these
researches, an interest arises to do seismic design of multistoried building using various codes to understand which codal
provision gives very effective design to perform good during earthquake.
• The above work is for waterproofing by using
Shahabad stone, These are joined to the basement
footing and shear wall to stop the penetration of water
after filling work is done and also the it stops the

Lime concrete is a composite mixture of lime as binding material, sand as fine aggregate, and gravel as coarse aggregate in
appropriate proportions. Lime concrete mix ratio depends on the type of construction, but in general, it can be taken up to a 1:2:3
ratio for lime, sand, and coarse aggregate, respectively.
Also binding material like jaggery, udid dal , methi dana etc are used and with them insecticide is mixed jaggery water is used for
binding and curing while compacting the slab/ concreting
Class A - Eminently hydraulic lime used for structural purposes.
Class B - Semi hydraulic lime used for lime concrete.
The proportions of aggregate to lime mortar shall be done by volume.
Generally, lime is prepared by mixing 100 parts of 40 mm nominal size graded stone aggregate, gravel, or brick aggregate as
specified and 40 parts of lime mortar of the specified mix.
1. Machine Mixing
Mixing shall be done by pouring the measured quantity of coarse aggregate and wet ground mortar in the mixer's drum while it is
revolving.
The quantity of materials loaded in the drum shall not exceed the rated capacity of the mixer.
The water shall be added gradually up to the required quantity, and the wet mixing of a batch shall be continued for at least two
minutes in the drum till concrete of uniform color with uniformly distributed materials and consistency is obtained.
The consistency of the lime concrete shall be such that the mortar does not tend to separate from the coarse aggregate.
If there is segregation after unloading from the mixer, the concrete should be removed.
The entire batch of concrete shall be discharged before the materials for the new batch are poured into the drum.
Before suspending the work, the mixer shall be cleaned by revolving the drum with plenty of water each time.

When hand mixing is specifically permitted, it shall be done on a clean and watertight masonry platform of sufficient size to
provide adequate mixing space.
The specified wet lime mortar shall be laid on the top of the aggregate. Turning shall be done repeatedly with the addition of the
necessary quantity of water until a uniform mix of required consistency is obtained.
The consistency of the lime concrete shall be such that the mortar shall not tend to separate from the coarse aggregate.

Site 11 – WTP RECIRCULATION AT BHAVANI PETH

Recirculation is circulating something again for reuse, or

recycling to minimize process cost and increase efficiency.
For example, recirculating water is a way of reducing the
load of organic waste in the water and of increasing the
amount of oxygen in the water. Effluent is treated in a
wastewater treatment plant through recirculation, where
it is piped back to the beginning of the treatment process
and added to the raw wastewater.
The water is then guided through silica-sand filters,
followed by ozone disinfection and pumping to the
second separation level – filters with granulated active
coal. The treated water is secured with chlorine dioxide
and chlorine. Its pH is further adjusted, using calcium
water. Drinking water is then accumulated in a water
tower.
Backwashing water is obtained from the backwashing
water basin, to which water is pumped from both the
output accumulation and the segment immediately
behind the sand filters. Backwashing water is used for
cleaning both filtration levels and fresh backwashing
water is then further treated by thickening in the sludge
management process of sedimentation. The sludge
obtained is removed from the facility and sent for further
processing. The cleansed backwashing water is partly
released into the gutter, where it is possible to bring it back
to the beginning of the treatment process – to the inlet
facility, where it is mixed with raw water.
Site 13 – SCADA - (supervisory control and data acquisition

SCADA (supervisory control and data

acquisition) is a category of software
applications for controlling industrial processes,
which is the gathering of data in from remote
locations in order to control equipment and
conditions. SCADA provides organizations with
the tools needed to make and deploy data-
driven decisions regarding their industrial
processes.
One of the most commonly used types
of SCADA can be used to manage almost any
type of industrial process.
SCADA systems include hardware and software
components. The hardware gathers and feeds
data into field controller systems, which forward
the data to other systems that process and
present it to a human-machine interface (HMI)
in a timely manner. SCADA systems also record
and log all events for reporting process status
and issues. SCADA applications warn when
conditions become hazardous by sounding
alarms.
Here scada is used for water supply system
across the city it has automation so it involves in
distributing water accordingly equally and hold
the data of water consumption this is 3
generation system of scada it includes flow
ASSIGNMENTS
RURAL PRIMARY SCHOOL AT AURANGABAD
A rural school , therefore, is an educational establishment that is
far from the cities . His students are children who usually live in small
places or towns where agricultural activities are carried out.
Students often spend the whole day in the rural school, and in
some cases they even spend the night there. This is due to the long
distances that can exist between their homes and the
establishment. Unlike what happens in cities, in rural areas there
are often inconveniences for transfers due to the lack of means of
transport and roads in good condition.
