Doctor = D Patient = P

D: Good afternoon!
D: You don’t look good, actually. What seems to be the problem?
D: When did it happen?
D: When do you usually have stomachache? Does it happen before or after meals?
D: How long after meals?
D: How many meals do you have every day?
D: Was there any major change in your diet?
D: Do you feel nauseous?
D: Let me have a check of your abdomen. Would you please lie down here on your back? Bend your
knees up please. Ok, good.
D: Sorry for my cold fingers. I’m going to press the upper part of your stomach. Does it hurt?
P: 很疼。
D: Here?
D: Alright, it’s likely that you have a stomach ulcer, but we'll have to run some tests before I can
make sure. You should get a good rest first and try to have regular meals each day.
D: I don’t think it’s serious, but it highly depends on your eating habits. It’s better that you eat
regularly, and have something easy to digest.
D: No worries, let’s see what the test result says.
D: As what I said, get good rest, eat regularly.

D: You are welcome. I’m going to schedule a gastroscopy for you. What’s your availability for next
week?
D: Wonderful. So, is 10:30 next Monday morning good for you?
P: 没问题。
D: Great. OK, I’ve submitted the application for the test for next Monday morning, and you will
receive a message notification once it is approved and arranged.
D: It doesn’t take long, usually 3 working days. You will be in touch by assistant from our GP telling
you the result. And a hard copy will be sent to you by post, too. After you have the result, and if
necessary, you can see me again.
P: 太好了。
D: No problem. OK, are there any other questions?
D: OK, then. Have a nice day!
P: 再见。
