INTRODUCTION
Business intelligence is a technique which is used by most of the organisations for the
purpose of analysing data and information related to business. With the help of it current,
historical and predictive views of the company could be gathered by top level executives (Lee
and Lee, 2015). Main purpose of using it is to analyse raw data. This assignment is based upon
trends in business intelligence. For the purpose of analysing it in detail mobile apps and
applications topic is discussed under this project report.

Business intelligence is the set of different software which are used by organisations for
the purpose of analysing raw information to reach a conclusion. There are various trends that are
taking place in IT sector which includes mobile apps and application, Hybrid cloud and IT as
service etc. All of them are facilitating organisations and individuals to be aware of latest market
changes and trends. With the help of all of them standard of living of people is enhancing.
There are various types of mobile applications which are used for different purposes by
individuals and organisations. These are considered as one of the major latest trends of IT sector
because it is reducing communication barriers for the people and facilitating them to be
connected with the world. Some apps that are developing massively in world are Uber, Netflix,
Tik Tok, Snapchat, Linkedin, Gusto, Trivago, Tripadvisor, Skype, PayPal, Wave, Asana,
Alibaba, OneLogin etc. All these applications are used by individuals as well as organisations to
maintain records of payroll, tax and benefits (Sun, Strang and Firmin, 2017). There are various
benefits and usage of them for people and companies which are as follows:
Usage and benefits for individuals: Now a days various new applications are being
launched in the market which enhances standard of living of people. One of the most famous app
which is used by people massively is Tik Tok. It is the destination of entertainment for people
where short time mobile videos are made by people. It is used to present and capture the
creativity, precious life moments, knowledge etc. While planning for holidays most of the people
use Trip advisor in order to check reviews of people regarding the place where they are going to
visit. It has facilitated customers to make valuable decisions regarding the venue to stay at the
time of trip. It is also used by them to leave their reviews so that others can check them and make

decisions for future. While travelling from one place to another one of the major requirements is
hotel. In order to fulfil this need Trivago application for hotel bookings. Netflix is also an app
which is used for entertainment purpose. It is a paid application in which individuals are required
to take subscription and afterwards different web series and movies.
One of the main application which growing all around the world is Uber. It provides
different types of services to customers such as food delivery and cab booking. It is growing
continuously and taking the IT industry forward. Snapchat is an entertainment application which
is used by individuals to be in touch with others. There are various filters in it that are used by
people to change their appearance. Paypal is an online payment application which is used by
most of the people for the purpose of making payments to the seller. It has reduced the burden of
individuals to keep cash or cards in their wallat.
Usage of all the applications are increasing massively as all of them are beneficiary for
individuals and it is resulting in growth of IT sector. Mobile apps and applications contributes a
higher amount in the total revenues of the industry.
Usage and benefits for enterprises: There are various apps which are used by
organisations to execute their day to day activities and run the operational activities in
appropriate manner. Gusto is one of the main applications which are used by small companies
for various purposes such as recording payroll, tax and benefit processes. With the help of it
enterprises also handle online staff members on boarding. New hire reporting is also handled by
it. Different types of state, federal and local tax filings are also managed with the help of it.
Linkedin is an application which is used by organisations as well as individuals in order to find
and post job opportunities. It is considered as the most useable app as it helps employers to
recruit best suitable candidate for the vacant posts of company. It is very beneficial for firms as it
guides to reach the applicants who are looking for job and fit to the requirements of entity.
Skype is one of the applications which are used for professional video calling or other
business purposes. In order to contact with staff members of the organisation employers use it to
interact with them face to face from a far location (Sun, Zou and Strang, 2015). OneLogin is an
app which is a cloud based identify and access management provider. It designs, sells and
develops access management systems platform for organisations to facilitate them to meet the
changing needs of business in secure, reliable and simple manner. Asana is an application which
is used by most of the large sector organisations to plan and organise different projects,

workflow etc. in appropriate manner so that all the operations can be completed within fixed
schedule. It is used by most of the large companies in order to make sure that all the operational
activities are performed in appropriate manner or not. Wave is an accounting software and app
which is mainly designed for small business entities, sole proprietors and independent
contractors so that they can track different expenses, sales and manage customer payments,
invoices and scan receipts (Mobile applications used by small businesses, 2019). Main purpose
of it is to facilitate small businesses to manage their finance in appropriate manner. Alibaba is
one of the largest applications which are growing massively. It offers products and services to
retailers only so that they can make contract with whole sellers online. It interconnects retailers
and whole sellers from different locations so that they can conduct all the business activities
(Tutunea, 2015).
From the above analysis it has been assessed that trend of mobile app and applications
have facilitated individuals as well as organisations in different manners. People are using
various apps to enhance their standard of living and be aware of market trends. Business entities
are using applications for the purpose of managing all the operational and executional activities.
All of them have taken the IT sector forward by increasing engagement level of customers in
apps and making them a part of their daily life (Walravens, 2015).

CONCLUSION
From the above project report it has been concluded that business intelligence is a type of
technology which is used by most of the organisations for the purpose of managing operational
activities. One of the major trend in the market of it is mobile apps and applications which are
facilitating individuals and organisations. Companies are using end number of apps such as
Alibaba, Wave, OneLogin, Asana, Linkedin etc. All of them are used for the purpose of
managing projects, reports and operations. Applications that are used by individuals are Uber,
Paypal, Trivago, Snapchat, TikTok etc. all of them are used by people for entertainment and be
aware of latest market situations.
