What part of your religion’s teachings, beliefs or ethnic practices and cultures would you

adopt to your office to promote and develop efficiency in its service delivery?

As part of our culture, Filipinos are more inclined to talk freely with their peers to establish a
comfortable atmosphere. By talking freely with each other and establishing a comfortable
atmosphere to aid an effective communication among one another, rapport will be built among
the people involved.

By adopting and building rapport in the workplace, the office workers and employees would be
able to share ideas and suggestions more freely among one another, which would develop
efficiency in their work. By being able to talk freely about the work to develop, the skills to
improve, and other similar things, the office would be able to deliver its service more effectively
to its prospective clients.

Another widely-known Filipino culture that is being acknowledged by many is hospitality.


Filipinos are usually hospitable to newcomers or colleagues. If the office workers or employees
becomes more hospitable to their clients by frequently offering better suggestions, plans, and/or
help, the workplace would be a better environment to work on.

Akin to the Filipino culture is the Islamic culture and/or teachings, which is also a good source of
better work ethics or practices. One of the most commonly preached behavior in Islamic
teachings is creating trust with your peers.

It is always recommended to work with full trust with your colleagues in order to have a smooth
and effective workplace, which also makes it easier for the office workers or employees to
practice honesty with their clients.

Another ethical behavior or attitude taught by Islam is fairness. Under the Shari’ah law, it has
been stated that workers should be treated with fairness and with kindness. One very important
ingredient in making an efficient workplace and in delivering efficient service delivery, is to pay
attention to employee welfare.
