DIAL-UP
● The slowest type of
internet connection.
● A dial-up connection uses

the Internet at data
transfer rates (DTR) of up
to 56 Kbps.
DSL
● Digital Subscriber Line
● Faster than dial-up.
● Provides access to the
internet through telephone
lines and a modem, which
is a piece of hardware that
acts as the middleman.
Cable
● Faster than both dial-up
and DSL service
● A form of high-speed
connection that uses a
cable television
infrastructure to provide
access to end users.
FIBER
● Fastest internet
connection so far.
● It uses fine glass cables to
send data at fast speeds
utilizing light pulses.
Cellular
● Wireless internet internet
connection often used by
smartphones.
● 4G (1000Mbps), LTE (Long-
Term Evolution, 100 Mbps)
and 5G (1Gbps) .
