Good morning po, I am Marielle and my presentation is all about Mang Inasal

Philippines Inc. I’m pretty sure we are all familiar that Mang Inasal is a fast
food restaurant chain in our country. It was established in Iloilo city in 2003. It
is known with its authentic Filipino cuisine with the concept of dining in. Mang
Inasal has over 500 stores nationwide currently making it the top Pinoy
branded outlet in the nation. One of the reasons on why it is successful does
not only lies with the founder’s hard work but also because of their food that
makes Filipino feels like home and have grown to love. After 7 years of
successful business, Jollibee Food Corporation bought 70% of Mang inasal in
October 2010, and the 30% remaining in April 2016 making JFC acquiring
100% share of Mang Inasal. Not only it is popular to the mass, Mang Inasal
also won awards like Outstanding Fast Growing Local Food Company from the
19th Annual National Consumers Awards in 2008, the Most Outstanding
Quick Service Restaurant and Most Outstanding Chicken Inasal restaurant
from the 2010 Dangal ng Bayan Awards, and the Outstanding Filipino
Franchise Award from the 2015 Franchise Excellence Awards.

Now who was the reason behind all the success? Edgar ‘’InJap’’ Sia, born in
Iloilo City was the founder of Mang Inasal. Sia dropped out of college to focus
more on his business, and fortunately it is now a fast food chain. At 2011, Sia
became the youngest filipino billionaire after he sold 70% of shares of Mang
Inasal to JFC. He started Mang Inasal from sratch buying a lease in Robinsons
Mall.

So next is what are the social entrepreneurial practices of Mang Inasal. Since
its founded more than six years ago, the company has made contributions to
charitable organizations, religious groups, socio-civic clubs, educational
institutions, local government units (LGUs),and more. There are 9 social
responsibility programs of mang insal.

First of the list is massive reforestation Mang Inasal has been working on a
significant forestry project since 2008, first on the island of Guimaras and
then in key locations in Panay after 2010.

Next is Funds for Children care institutiions, As far as its financial capacity
would allow, the corporation donated funds to the SOS Children Village in
Zarraga, Iloilo, the ABS-CBN BANTAY BATA Foundation, as well as several
senior homes and orphanages.
Another one is assistance for people with disabilities. As part of its
commitment, the business signed a memorandum of understanding with
ALDEARS, the neighborhood association for people with disabilities, to hire
suitable members. The business also participates in their yearly events as a
significant sponsor.

The 4th one is awareness raising partnerships, the corporation has constantly
collaborated with governmental and non-governmental groups in support of
many causes, including the eradication of dengue, the prevention of foot and
mouth disease, events for nutrition month, seminars on fire safety, and
disaster awareness campaigns.

Next is Sponsors of sports and cultural activities. The corporation yearly

sponsors Dinagyang tribes and initiatives of the Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation
in an effort to promote tourism and healthy recreational and sporting
activities. Mang Inasal has sponsored a wide range of cultural and sporting
events around the country. The business supported the Mang Inasal Warriors
basketball team in 2008 as part of their participation in the national league.

Another one is Calamities relief operations Mang Inasal provided significant

donations to the typhoon, flood, and fire victims around the country.

Next up is economic development communities As Mang Inasal spreads

across the country, the bamboo growers in the Brgy of Maasin Iloilo must
have felt pressure to boost their production of bamboo skewers. The growth
has led to the creation of productive employment for an increasing number of
residents in the barangays. This is not just true for bamboo farmers; banana
producers in other province towns have also witnessed the revival of the
banana leaf industry, which was previously thought to be in decline due to its
significance in the Mang Inasal meal presentation.

Then Assistance to small and mid entrep of western Visayas. Since many
small business owners find it difficult to promote their goods, the firm opened
a pasalubong shop that features the top pasalubong manufacturers in
Guimaras and Iloilo. In exchange for a tiny percentage of their gross sales,
these manufacturers pay the company for the remaining costs.

And lastly is medical/dental mission on numerous occasions, the business

joins with local Philippine Dental Association chapters to provide medical and
dental services to low-income families in the community.
