Target Students Anyone interested in the complicated inquiry of "family"
When external stressors happen to individuals, their coping occurs
with their family involved as a unit. In this course, we will cover
many different types of stressors, including immigration and health
condition, and look into how families cope with the stressors.
Course Description & Goals Contemporarily, whereas diverse forms of families exist, the cultural
expectations towards families do not seem to have changed
accordingly. Thus, the discussions in this course will cover the
context of diversity as well as the diversity of contexts. To do so,
we will learn some qualitative research methods.

Prerequisite Introductory/General psychology course is required.

Course Requirements Paper, Presentation, and Participation

There will be one final paper (40%) and one class presentation to get
feedback on the final paper (30%). As this course will run as a
Grading Policy(Absolute)
seminar type, the participation and class discussion matter as well
(30%).
