What is Ibanag?
• The Ibanag or Ybanag are concentrated on the Provinces
of Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, Isabela. The Ybanag are among
the minority of Filipino people that live along the banks of
Cagayan River. They are the most assimilable and adaptable
among the groups of the Filipino. On Cagayan, Ybanag are
more found in Tuguegarao, Abulug, Pamplona, Camalanugan,
Lal-lo, Amulung, Iguig, Penablanca, and Aparri towns.

Ibanag palavvun
A "palavvun" (riddle) is any misleading,
mystifying or puzzling question to be
solved or guessed, either as a mere game or
a more serious challenge. For Ibanags, it is
both a folk amusement or a mental
excursion. It is aimed at relaxation,
entertainment and at pacifying anger and
feuds.
