REFLECTION:

Make a 1-paged reflection paper (Letter 8.5” x 11”, single space). Below are the
guide questions:

1.       What is Human Dignity based on your own understanding?

One of the most significant features of a human being is dignity. It means being admired
and respected for who or what you are, what you value, as well as how you act. As
human beings, we all have qualities that we can inherit or that emerge naturally. Human
dignity, in my opinion, emerges spontaneously from us. It's also about understanding
humanity and knowing one's rights as a human being. It's also about having the ability to
earn respect and have others value you.

2.       What is Freedom? Is it more of a feeling or a virtue? Is man really free?

Yes, man is truly free, but we have no control over the consequences of his free will. For
me, freedom entails the ability to do whatever you want but also thinking how your
actions may affect those around you. It can become a virtue if you know how to limit
your freedom by recognizing what is wrong and right, as well as what is good and evil.
Freedom must make a man responsible for his actions, therefore we must think critically
before doing what we want since it has the potential to have a positive or negative impact
on us or those around us, so we must evaluate all of the factors that may affect us before
exercising our freedom.

3.       Explain why man’s dignity is inviolable.

Human dignity is not something we can take away from other people simply because it
comes naturally to us and is derived from God .Because we were created in the image
and likeness of God, we cannot be deprived of our dignity, which is central to the holy
teaching. Finally, dignity must be safeguarded because it is essential to our development
as human beings.
