GENDER EQUALITY

Every one of us deserves the right to be treated equally no matter

what gender we have, whether it is a man or a woman. All of us are
capable of doing what our opposite gender does. Gender equality is
when people of all genders have equal rights, responsibilities, and
opportunities. It means that there is no difference between men and
women in terms of power, opportunities, financial independence,
education, and place in society. And we are worthy to have this
opportunity because everyone is important as we how valued ourselves
after we’ve gone through all these years. For before our generation
this thing, this right doesn’t exist at all.
For several years, even before the year, hundred B.C. gender
equality is the thing that everyone wanted to happen. Everyone wants
to be treated equally to men for the men always had the job, the
education, the opportunity, and especially the power. While women were
treated brutally and used as men’s decorations back then. They were
slaves and has no rights in society. Women cannot work like them and
shall stay at home for 24 hours. In short, most women before are
unworthy and unimportant.
Meanwhile, there are also men who cannot be supposed to do as much
as women do. They cannot cry, be a house husband, cannot clean, or
cook, and most of all cannot have feminine traits. They must be tough,
strong, and invincible for most of the society is on their shoulders.
They were too pressured to be excellent which resulted in them being
depressed and engaging of doing bad habits such as drinking and
smoking. Even though they were powerful they are also affected by how
society sees them.
However, due to the people who spoke for themselves such as
Christine de Pizan who was an early advocate in 14 hundred, or Emma
Watson in today’s generation, our society begins to evolve and starts
to adapt to these changes. Everyone is treated equally even if you are
born as a man or a woman. Anyone can feel and do what their opposites
do. They can work like how men are. While men are also accepted being
just house husband who cooks, clean, and care for them at home.
Because this is the modern world and everyone is worthy no matter what
gender we are.
To sum it all up, gender equality is when all genders should have
equal chances, rights, and responsibilities. It doesn’t really exist
before but due to the people who spoke, it miraculously happened. So
today, in our modern world we are now accepting the fact that everyone
should be treated equally whether you are a man or woman. Because
today, gender equality was granted. And gender equality is meant to
make us all equal.
