Essential Question: How well will reusable products replace single use products?

Three Points to Prove: #1: Single use products produce more waste

#2: Reusable products reduce waste

#3: Reducing waste production will benefit the enviornment.

Point that this Source Proves: Single use products cause more waste.

Excerpts (These should provide insight into the Point to Prove)

On page 11 of the magazine says “it has been estimated that there are nearly 380 million tons of plastic
produced a year” majority of these plastics are from single use. It also states that most of this plastic
will end up in bodies of water or a land fill.

It is also found that “only 28.9 percent of plastic bottles are recycled in the U.S”

The anti plastic movement of this magazine says “Plastics do not biodegrade. They as it were break
down gradually, into litter parts called microplastics which are making their way into nourishment
chain and in the way to our bodies.

Analysis (How does this source support the Point to Prove?):

Thus source proves my point to prove because it talks about how single use products causes slots of
waste and explains why. The article states that plastic items do not completely debase and stay in the
climate for hundreds of years. We deliver around 300 million tons of plastic each year around the
world, half of which is from single use items. They compare this to the weight of the Human
population,
