4 KEY ATTRIBUTES OF WORLD POLITICS*

1. There are countries or states that are independent and govern themselves.
- Independence is a condition of a country or state exercise self-government (Sovereignty, over its
territory). Sovereignty signifies Independence. Ang pagiging isang malayang bansa or state ay karapatan ng
isang bansa o state na ilarawan ang sarili nitong kinabukasan sa pamamgitan ng sariling pagpapasya.

2. These countries interact with each other through diplomacy.

- Diplomacy, the established method of influencing the decisions and behavior of foreign governments
and people through dialogue, negotiation, and other measures short of war or violence. Kadalasang
tumutukoy ito sa internasyonal na diplomasya, ang pangangasiwa ng internasyunal na ugnayan sa pamamagitan
ng mga propesyunal na mga diplomatiko kasama ang pagsaalang-alang sa mga usapin ng paggawa ng
kapayapaan, kalakalan, digmaan, ekonomika at kultura.

3. There are international organizations, like United Nations(UN), that facilitate these
interactions.
- As regard the role of international organization in maintaining peace and order. Nevertheless,
international organization have the role of modifying the identity and interest of states. Sa pamamagitan
ng internasyunal na organisasyon, inaangkop ng estado ang mga internasyonal na pamantayan ng naaangkop na
gawain ng estado upang ipaalam sa kanilang mga patakaran at istrukturang lokal.

4. Beyond simply facilitating meetings between states, international organizations also take on
lives of their own.
- In reality, the creation of international organizations by the powerful nation-states is to influence the
International Political System. The effectiveness of international organizations is as effective as the
willingness of the benefiting states to enforce these pacts. But more often than not, they are co-opted by
the interests of their member states.
