Summary

In Present time, due to an increase in population number, there are a lot of vehicles present in
our country. As day go by, traffic congestion is becoming more and more serious each day.
The existing techniques that are being used today are proven to be unsatisfactory.

Project Title

Traffic Light Signal Processing

Summary Survey to develop a process for complex engineering problems

In this modern world we must transport anything efficiently and, we need to use vehicle and
the proper road system. While using road we face many types of problem such as traffic jam,
road accident and many more. And it takes a lot of time. So, we need something called traffic
control system. Traffic control systems are systems that manage the flow of vehicles,
pedestrians, and other transportation modes on roads, highways, and other transportation
networks. These systems use a variety of technologies and strategies to regulate and optimize
traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance safety. Traffic control systems typically consist
of a combination of hardware and software components. Hardware components may include
sensors, cameras, traffic lights, and signage, while software components may include
algorithms and data analysis tools.
There are several key requirements that a traffic control system must meet in order to
effectively manage traffic flow and ensure safety on the roads. These include:
1.Real-time monitoring: A traffic control system must be able to monitor traffic conditions in
real-time, using sensors, cameras, and other technologies to gather data on traffic flow,
congestion, and incidents.
2.Intelligent traffic signal control: The system must be able to intelligently control traffic
signals based on real-time traffic conditions, to ensure optimal traffic flow and reduce
congestion.
3.Data analysis and prediction: The system must be able to analyse traffic data and use
predictive algorithms to anticipate traffic patterns and congestion, allowing traffic managers
to proactively adjust traffic flow.
4.User-friendly interface: The system must be easy for traffic managers and other users to
navigate and use, with clear and intuitive interfaces for managing traffic flow and responding
to incidents.

Methodology

Problem statement:
As the name of the project “Traffic Light Control Circuit” suggests, the fundamental idea of
this simple electronic project is to control traffic via lighting signals. It can be used to avoid
vehicular collisions and traffic jams as the system ensures the smooth flow of traffic even on
busy routes. This project is just a one-way traffic controller, although it can be further
modified as well. In short, the circuit can be used to provide instructions to the driver via
lighting symbols on whether to drive through, stop, or yield at the intersection.

Control Lights indication:

There are three control lights or signals, which will provide the instruction to the driver.
• RED light – instructs the driver to STOP at the intersection.
• Yellow light– instructs the driver to WAIT (If red light is next) or GET READY (if
green light is next)
• GREEN light – instructs the driver to GO through the intersection.Yellow

Material Selection:
Following is the list of the basic components, which we will be using to make our traffic light
