Dear Student,
You should prepare your synchronous meeting following the next stages:

STAGE 1: Prepare the topic

For more information about the three main grammar topics of the task read the
Annex 1 Task 4 to learn how to use them properly.

1
According to the exercise made in the Task 2 – Plans, Hopes and Expectations,
you will record a two-minutes audio using the recording option – Insert Audio

reading one of the three paragraphs written in task 2. (See image 1 in Annex 1 Task

STAGE 2: Design the oral production

- Create a presentation: It can be in PowerPoint, Genially, Canva or similar in which

you present your life project exposing your hopes and expectations of the future.
Include five or six slides with the key information (no more than 25 words in each
slide) to develop your own ideas (see Annex 2 task 4). Remember to write your
own ideas using phrasal verbs, future perfect and conditionals.
- Share your presentation in the forum and give feedback to your classmates.

- Prepare your speech: Practice how to present and explain your ideas without

coherence and cohesion about the topic.

If you are not sure about pronunciation, you can practice on the following webpage
https://www.naturalreaders.com/online/ and listen to the correct pronunciation.

Oral Presentation:

Option 1:
Synchronous meeting.

Check the course mailbox and forum tutor’s message, and register (hour and day)
according to the link sent by the tutor.
Please do not leave your registration until the last minute because the schedules will
probably be full.

You will have to introduce yourself and present your life project. You will expose your
hopes and expectations of the future. Your presentation must be supported by visual
aids made in PowerPoint, Canva, or similar.
Check the configuration of your equipment, and make sure that the sound,
microphone, and video are working for the interview.

2
Be punctual in your entry to the tool (Google Meet, Skype, Zoom, or Teams) chosen
for the synchronous meeting.
Have 15 to 20 minutes available for the meeting, so you must be punctual.

Option 2:
Record a video.

If you can not arrange a date with your tutor to have your synchronous meeting, you
will have the chance to present your life project through a video. Remember that the
video must include an introduction and the presentation of your expectations of the
future while you share your visual aids. You can upload the video to platforms such as
YouTube or Google drive making sure it is accessible to all public and share the link
on the forum and the final paper.

For your Oral presentation through a video, please note:

Before recording, take enough time to prepare your verbal production in English in
order to evidence good pronunciation and natural speech and fluency.
Under no circumstances should you as a student read your speech. If so, your video
will be graded low.
- It is recommended that the video be accompanied by your visual aids that reinforce
the message of what you are telling. Your face must appear in the video. The
minimum length of the video should be three (3) minutes.
- Show your photo ID at the beginning of the video. Record in real time your video
showing your face, facing the camera and narrating your presentation in English in
your own voice.

Take into account:

- It is not allowed to read aloud; it must be a conscious speaking exercise.

- Practice pronunciation, fluency, and intonation.
- Make pauses.
- Speak loudly.
- Use linking words to connect your ideas and show sequence during your speech.

3
Stage 3: STT - Students Talking Time

-Make sure to attend and actively participate in at least three (3) STT workshops
proposed in the course during the dates of the task.
-Take evidence of your participation (screenshots) and include them in the final
document. Then, complete the chart provided in the annex with this information:
Name of the tutor who held the encounter, topic of the workshop and answer the
following question “What did I learn in this workshop?”

all communication skills according to the course level, you are invited to make a self-
critical reflection of your performance in this course by answering the questions
presented in the Annex 2 task 4 through a written paragraph. Please answer them
consciously.
