SH2046A stepper motor driver


I. Overview

SH2046A stepping motor driver is a novel driver developed by our


factory on the basis of the original driver. The new technology adopted by
the driver has the advantages of high efficiency, wide voltage range,
flexible setting, large torque and fast speed.

2. Instructions for use of the driver

Input power interface: Use a set of AC power supply, AC to AC20-50V, 3A or a set of DC power supply
DC24-60V, 3A.

Warning: The voltage cannot exceed this range, otherwise it will cause malfunction.

Motor interface:
For a two-phase four-wire motor , it can be directly connected to the driver (as shown in Figure 2A).

For a four-phase six-wire motor , the two middle taps are left open, and the remaining four wires are
connected to the driver (Figure 2B).

For a four-phase eight-wire motor , there are usually two connection methods:
parallel connection method : the red long and green are shorted to A+, the red short and green are long
connected to A-, the yellow long and blue are shorted to B+, and the yellow short and blue are long
connected. to B- (Figure 2C).
Serial connection method : connect the long red to A+, connect the red short to the green short, connect
the green long to A-, connect the yellow long to B+, connect the yellow short to the blue short, and
connect the blue long to B- (Figure 2D).

Note: The dangling connector should be handled properly, otherwise it will cause malfunction.

Warning: The motor cable cannot be connected incorrectly, otherwise the driver may be damaged.
Red long and green long, and red short and green short cannot be shorted at the same time.

Input signal interface:

The interface circuit inside the SH2046A stepping motor driver adopts optocoupler signal isolation,
as shown in Figure (Figure 3).

R in the figure is an external current limiting resistor. The connection method is differential connection
method, and the anti-interference performance is good.

Common anode connection method : OPTO (common anode connection method) is connected to CP+,
DIR+, FREE+ respectively. CP series resistance is connected to CP-, DIR series resistance is connected to
DIR-, and FREE series resistance is connected to FREE-. (Note: The resistor is not connected at 5V)

Common cathode connection method: CP series resistance is connected to CP+, DIR series resistance is
connected to DIR+, and FREE series resistance is connected to FREE+. (Note: the resistance is not
connected at 5V) The common cathode terminals are respectively connected to CP-, DIR-, FREE-.

If VCC is greater than +5V, the CP, DIR and FREE terminals used are connected in series with current
limiting resistors R respectively, to ensure that the internal optocoupler can provide a driving current of
8~15mA, see Table 1 above.

DIR: direction level signal input terminal, the high and low levels control the forward/reverse rotation of
the motor. The change of the signal level should be staggered more than 3us from the falling edge of the
CP pulse.

FREE: Offline signal (active at low level), when this input control terminal is low, the motor excitation
current is turned off, and the motor is in an offline free state.

CP: Step pulse signal input, the falling edge is valid, and the signal level stabilization time is not less than
3us.

Warning: The input signal must use enough current. (Generally speaking, TTL and CMOS signals
cannot be directly driven, let alone directly driven by the pins of the microcontroller). Otherwise
the system cannot work reliably.

相电流设定: SH2046A型细分驱动器采用拨位开关设定相电流,其中拨位5是半流使能(ON表示非
使能,OFF表示使能),其中拨位6是是自走方向,7,8,9均为0时电机自走,自走频率为20Hz,拨
位10位未用,不起任何作用。具体设定见表2,此驱动器步距角固定为0.9°。

Note: Information indication: normally off, when a pulse is input, the indicator flashes green once,
when pulses are continuously input, the indicator keeps showing green, when abnormal (such as
overcurrent), the indicator turns red alternately Flashing. Power indicator: When the green light is
on, it means that the power supply is normal; when the red light is on, it means that the power fuse
is broken, and the fuse of the same specification can be replaced after inspection.
3. Appearance and installation dimensions

The drive adopts a shell structure with a heat sink, and the heat dissipation of the drive should be paid
attention to during installation. (unit: mm)
