Extinction of activities outdoors and indoors the home

Goal:

 Prevent young people from doing indoor

and outdoor activities because of technology

As children enter and progress through their school years, they gain the ability to do their
own things like chores and school projects by themselves. For this reason, each year they
must acquire more responsibilities in the classroom and at home. During the early teen
years, most teens can help clean their rooms, make their beds, pick up their toys, and help in
the kitchen or garden. Some feed and care for pets. These daily chores and responsibilities
are an important part of learning that life requires work, not just play.Of course, children are
usually still more concerned with having fun. They can help out enthusiastically though,
particularly if helping out gives them time to spend with their parents. Children are not likely
to ask to do chores around the house, and parents often need to assign them responsibilities
as part of belonging to the family. At this age, many children find it difficult to follow and
complete chores around the house, at least at first. Responsibility and initiative are learned
through a gradual process of guidance and reward.

As your child takes on more responsibilities, he will likely have periods of acting irresponsible,
procrastinating, and wasting time. Most children do. During these times, you need to assert
yourself and with proper guidance and support, point him in the right direction.
