Good morning and welcome to the first of what I hope are many entertaining

musical performances at our New Embassy Compound.

Before we start the show, I wanted to recognize our talented guests today who
all live right here in Guatemala City! First off, we have Maestro Massimo
Pezzutti: a decorated Italian baritone, musical director, and international
competition judge for classical voice who has worked throughout Europe and
Latin America.

We are delighted to welcome Soprano singer Alejandra Flores who has won
many singing competitions throughout her impressive career. She has sung
on major stages throughout Europe, the United States, South and Central
America. Alejandra is currently a professor and the Chair of Academic
Singing at the University of San Carlos.

You may recognize the person listed as a tenor in today’s program as our very
own Economic Officer Jullion Cooper. He has studied with Maestro Pezzutti
for the last two years and has performed opera all over Guatemala City in
multiple street performances. Today he graduates from street signing and is
here participating in his first official recital after picking up opera as a hobby
during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Accompanying our singers today we have pianist Daniel Cardona who

graduated from the National Conservatory of Music of Guatemala and has
performed and innumerable concerts. He is currently a Professor of Piano at
his alma mater National Conservatory of Music as well as at the Municipal
School of Music in Guatemala City.

Without further ado, everyone please stand for Guatemalan national anthem
to be followed by the national anthem for the United States.
