Organ Sales
Will Save Lives

Joanna MacKay
There are thousands of people dying to
buy a kidney and thousands of people
dying to sell a kidney. It seems a match
made in heaven. So why are we standing
in the way? Governments should not ban
the sale of human organs; they should
regulate it. Lives should not be wasted;
they should be saved.

Cancer Is Common But Is Not Contagious

You should not avoid friends or loved ones who have cancer. Cancer
cannot be transferred by close contact or touching, sharing meals, or
inhaling the same air. Cancer cells from one person cannot exist in the
body of another person who is healthy. In fact, a healthy immune
system quickly recognizes malignant cells and eliminates them before
they can develop and spread. Foreign cells, particularly cancer cells
from another individual, are detected and destroyed by the immune
system. Therefore, cancer is not contagious and cannot be "caught" by
another person.
Organ sale: The Saving of Lives

Organ sale—for example, allowing or encouraging consenting adults to

become living kidney donors in return for money—has been proposed as
a possible solution to the seemingly chronic shortage of organs for
transplantation. Many people however regard this idea as abhorrent
and argue both that the practice would be unethical and that it should
be banned. However, permitting (or encouraging) organ sale will save
lives by (at least partially) alleviating the shortage of transplant
organs. The saving of lives is a good end and organ sale is then
defensible as a means of achieving that positive end.
Save The Earth Now Or Lose It In Thirty Years,
Say Environmental Experts

We cannot prevent natural disasters from happening and

with our increasing misuse and abuse of our natural
resources, these disasters would just increase in intensity.
What is necessary is this: the government, environmental
sectors, and sustainable businesses should come together
to prevent increasing abuse of natural resources.
