• 1 Dashboard Update,
• 1 Electric loom,
• 1 SWITCH – USB plate, including 2 switchs and 1 download connector to be fixed in the car,
• 1 GPS,
To install the switch plate including the 2 buttons and the download connector, you have to extract the
plastic plate located at the right of the center console and replace it by the switch plate which has the
same dimensions.
The data logging loom includes 5 different connectors, which have the following labels:
DASH, COM DASH, SW USB, GPS, CAN .
The DASH connector (Multilock 12V)is fitted on the back of the Dashboard, in the free space near the
supply connector.
The SW USB connector (Type Multilock 8V) is mounted at the back of the switch plate.
The COM DASH connector (Sicma 3-way) is connected to the « DASHBOARD » connector of the
vehicle loom( located at the right side of the driver, under the steering wheel).
The GPS connector (Superseal 4-way Male contact) is located in front of the co-driver, it has to be
connected with the GPS.
The CAN connector (Superseal 4-way Female contact) is not used yet.
The GPS takes place on the roof, under the air intake. It’s waterproof. The mounting is done with a
M3x5 BHC type screw. It’s necessary to put a plastic protection between the metal of the roof and
the GPS unit.
The loom has to be fixed with ty-raps specially near the connectors.
The way to install the 2 software is explained in the documents relative to each software.
Dashboard features
A new screen is available on the display. It presents information relative to data logging :
• Memory state(memory address, error on the memory…),
• GPS information (reception quality, speed and hour),
• Switch state (race/transit)
The log_address counter is increasing when the data are recorded in the Dashboard. It’ s a good way to
know if the dashboard works properly, the counter should increase if the RPM reaches 100rpm.
The counter is reset after a re-initialization of the memory.
The dashboard records the main data of the car in two different ways:
The Transit Mode (Switch inactive): the data are recorded at low frequency
The Special Mode ( Switch activated : High frequency level of recording.
You’ll find in the data logging file the 2 different mode, which permit to locating easily the data relative to a
Transit or a Special stage.
The button on the top of the plate is for future use, not active now. It must not be pushed to not mess with
the whole system.
Value Description
1 Water Temperature alert activated
2 Battery voltage alert activated
4 Fuel Pressure alert activated
8 Oil Pressure alert activated
If two alerts occur in the same time the values are added (ex Water Temperature + Battery voltage alert :
alarm value is 3)
The record of the data starts when the RpM reaches 100tr/min. It stops 15s after the engine cut.
The Dashboard has a logging capacity of more of 3h in “race” mode , and more than 7h in “transit” mode.
The data logging works in closed loop. Thus the oldest data are automatically replaced by the most recent
one, and you never need to initialize the memory.
Memory ERROR
If the memory Error flag equals to 1, it means that an error memory occurred and the record are stopped.
The system need to be reinitialized with the E-link software. If the errors occurs frequently you need to
contact Citroen sport for a full diagnostic.
GPS
The GPS data are only available when the reception has a good quality. It needs about 5mn to synchronize
after it starts. The quality of reception is displayed on the Dashboard, if the reception is good, it indicates V
as Valid, if it the signal is too bad it indicates F as Failed.
The time received from the GPS is based on UTC time, you may need to offset it with the software E-link.
Reading a correct hour on the dashboard is a good way to know if it’s correctly installed.
Data downloading
To download the data you need the E_Link software. This protocol is explained in the document relative to
E-Link.
The data analyze is done with the E-race software. The way to use the software is described in the E Race
manual.
