ABSTRACT
Online Quiz System is a web-based quiz system for accessing students. It is a system by which
students can sit in a quiz which need no pencil and paper. Nowadays, students take quiz
manually .Lecturers need spend more time on grading. Other than that, the quiz paper maybe
will be missing. Students need to wait for lecturers finish grading to get their result. Therefore,
this system will help lecturers save their time because of automated marking. Lecturers can set
up a quiz which is it will auto-grade itself. Students can answer the quiz from any location and
get fast result. This online quiz system is using rule-based algorithm to interpret information
in a useful way. Rule- based algorithm used in this system is short answer based on keyword.
Instead of the regular pen paper examinations held by various institutions, one can make use
of the Quiz Portal. Quiz Portal makes education fun and easier. This system is useful for
conducting multiple choice question examinations, which can be conducted regularly or for
surprise tests as well. It provides immediate results saving time. Administrator will have the
privilege to create, modify and delete the test papers and its particular questions. The candidate
can register, login and give the test with his unique id and can see the result as well.

LITERATURE SURVEY

gives the idea about the working of Examination management System. Online Examination
Management System (OEMS) is project or web- based application which is used to control the
tasks which occur during every examinations period. This project is developed in PHP. This
php project can save a lot of time for examination department by providing Functionalities to
their manual tasks like Exam Time Table Generation. However, GA are very slow. It cannot
always find the exact solution but GA always finds the best solution.

In today’s world, Smart phones have changed our lives and have become an indispensable part
of our lives because of its specialty to simplify our routine work and thereby saving our time.
A Smartphone with an Android OS offers excellent functionality to the users offering a distinct
experience. Android is a Linux based operating system and it was bought by Google in
2007.There are tons of application available and one of the prime reason for this vast number
is android being an open source. On the other hand, android based device like mobile.

Online examination is one of the crucial parts for online education. It is efficient and fast
enough and reduces the large amount of material resource. An examination system is designed
and developed based on web. This paper describes the principle of the system, presents the
main functions of the system, analyses the algorithm of auto-generating test paper, and
discusses the security of the system.

In a paper by Burcu Yılmaz Kaya , Gökhan Kaya and Metin Dağdeviren. Preparing tests is a
difficult to handle and a time-consuming process for teachers, in which they have to prepare
both fair and consistent ones for each class. Besides this, even if the teacher can prepare a
sufficient exam, it is difficult prevent students from cheating, and if the teacher cannot prevent
them to do this injustice occurs again. In this point of view, the purpose of this study is to
develop a system for both distance and formal education types, which composes unique quizzes
or midterm exams or final exams for each student

Automated tutorials enable students to prepare and revise topics whenever they wish. Very
large and growing class sizes on key pathways mean that busy tutors and students are glad of
software programs that automate some of the more routine student-tutor interactions. I present
a worked example of a short automated adaptive tutorial, inspired by human-to-human
dialogue and created using the kind of widely deployed assessment software that is used for
authoring multiple-response (check-box) exam questions.

In this paper we present an innovative eLearning project being developed in collaboration by

St. Petersburg Technical University and Graz University of Technology, Austria. The project
aims to develop a common educational WEB space for distant teaching of different aspects of
database technology. The method can be applied for teaching students which have different
specialities and background knowledge. The method can be also easily adopted for so-called
Life-Long-Learning (LLL), and can seriously amend a current practice

In this paper by SK. Imran Hossain Shoyeb, This project main purpose is to develop Online
Quiz system named ‘LETS QUIZ’. The application (LETS QUIZ) will provide online based
quiz with multiple choice question (MCQ). This quiz application will support android base
operating system. However, android device is not considered safe as compared to other
applications. It is easy to target any android phone and every day millions of attempt are done
on Android phone. Hackers keep on trying to steal personal information.

This article addresses the concern that business schools are not adequately developing the
practical leadership skills that are required in the real world of management. The article begins
by discussing the limitations of traditional case methods for teaching behavioral skills. This
approach is contrasted with an alternative case method drawn from action inquiry (AI) that
uses ongoing student cases to develop more effective leadership behaviours’. The
studentcentered case approach is distinguished from traditional case teaching by tracing

the problem correctly—choosing all the correct answers and none of the incorrect ones—the
system provides appropriate words of congratulations and the tutorial concludes.

System designers’ target is to prevent the cheating, while making the system to constitute
different tests according to the student number. However, the only thing that we can criticize
the presented web jbased system is that, it is not able to test the expressive capabilities of the
students in verbal courses. This situation is a common and ventured drawback for test
examination evaluation method.

The main objective of the project MCQ Quiz Application is to manage the details of students,
examinations, marks, courses and papers. The project is totally at administrative end and thus
only the administrator is granted the access. The purpose of the project is to build an application
to reduce the manual work for managing the MCQ quiz and we will follow to achieve these
objectives in this project.

Over the last decade, the concept of e-learning has become an important topic. E-learning
today gives the student a central role in his/her own learning process. It allows students to try
things out, participate in courses, tests and simulations like never before, and get more out of
learning than before. In this paper, an adaptive e-learning environment for logic gates,
simplification of Boolean functions and related fields is presented. The presented model
generates suitable courses for each student in a dynamic form. The proposed environment …

This research aims to develop a multiple-choice Web-based quiz-game-like formative

assessment system, named GAM-WATA. The unique design of 'Ask-Hint Strategy'turns the
Web-based formative assessment into an online quiz game.'Ask-Hint Strategy'is composed of
'Prune Strategy'and 'Call-in Strategy'.'Prune Strategy'removes one incorrect option and turns
the original 4-option item into a 3-option one.'Call-in Strategy'provides the rate at which other
test takers choose each option when answering a question.

As online and blended learning has become common place educational strategy in higher
education, educators need to reconceptualise fundamental issues of teaching, learning and
assessment in non traditional spaces. These issues include concepts such as validity and
reliability of assessment in online environments in relation to serving the intended purposes,
as well as understanding how formative assessment functions within online and blended
learning. This article provides a systematic qualitative review of the research literature on
WIRIS quizzes are an online mathematics tool for educational purposes that upgrade Moodle
quizzes and allow the development of personalized quizzes using random data and conditional
instructions. WIRIS quizzes can be used in any mathematics or science degree; their complex
operators allow it to be used to solve electrical circuits. This tool promotes autonomous student
learning and enables teachers to monitor that learning and make adjustments if necessary.
Therefore, this tool improves teaching quality.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
The first problem is lecturers need spend more time on grading. This is because lecturer need
to check student paper one by one.

The second problem is difficult for students to answer quiz from any location.
Quiz give an impact in coursework. Sometime some students have their own reason cannot
take quiz on time.

In reality, lecturers and students were really important and they play a big role in setup the quiz.
Besides, lecturers can test their students’ knowledge by grading. Here, the reasons to develop
a web-based quiz system.
