I. Answer the questions:
1. You selected a research sample of 384 samples, can you explain how you came
up with that number?
The overall size of the population of Da Nang is about one million people,
so it is advisable to rely on sample sizes for different target population sizes
at the 95% confidence level (5% margin of error), the number of samples
should be 384 is suitable for the research topic.
2. Can you explain the limitations of the theoretical model as well as previous
research, which led to your undertaking this research?
The theory of planned behaviour can be seen as a good predictor of purchase
intentions and the consumer’s behaviour; however, it is underlying the
assumption that individuals act rationally. Blake (1999) indicates that
individual, social and institutional obstacles are not taken into account with
such behavioural models.
Overall, previous studies have sought to examine and clarify the relationship
between attitude and behavior of consumers in the decision making in
ethical purchases. However, studies have mainly focused on internal factors
that come from consumer perception.
3. Can you explain why you did the research based on external factors instead of
internal factors?
The use of internal factors can describe the reason for the customer's
attitude-behavior gap, however, if it is possible to measure the influence of
the external factors of the business, it can help businesses understand
customers better, and can offer appropriate solutions to have better promote
ethical clothing sales.
