Topic: Ask about someone´s vacation.

Objectives: The students will be able to ask about someone´s vacation.

A. Conversation. Deduce the topic. Try to explain to yourself the listening activity. Divide the activity
in parts: Identification of the main idea, specific ideas, and supporting ideas. Listen the audio, totally.
Listen the audio in parts for specific comprehension. Listen and follow the listening in the text. Listen
and repeat. Present a comprehension of the listening activity, written or verbally. Begin your
comprehension like this: The dialogue is about…

B. Rhythm and intonation. Listen again and pay attention to the rhythm and intonation in the questions
and sentences.

Grammar.

The simple past tense with regular and irregular verbs.

Examine the new grammar. Try to write a sentence with the grammatical structure on your notebook.
Underline the grammatical or linguistic structure. Try to imitate for you the pronunciation of the
grammatical or linguistic structure. Explain how is structured the grammatical or linguistic structure
and its uses. Ask to the students to listen and repeat the grammatical or linguistic structure. Write
sufficient examples with the grammatical or linguistic structure. Choose students to model the usage of
the grammatical or linguistic structure. Request to the students to practice the grammatical or linguistic
structure.

B. Grammar practice. Complete Ida´s post with past forms of the verbs.

C. Write questions using the simple past tense. Begin your questions like this: What did Alejandra…?

D. Answer the question by writing a paragraph of five sentences: What did you do last week? Use the
verbs from the list.

A. Listen and repeat the pronunciation of the simple past tense ending -ed.

B. Listen to the verbs. Circle the –ed ending you hear.

In the simple past tense describe someone´s vacation in a paragraph of five sentences. Begin your
sentences like this: He played tennis every day in August.
