Simple Past Tense indicates an action that is completed at a definite time in the past.

When we make past simple statements, we use time expressions including:

Yesterday: She was late for work yesterday morning.

Ago: I started my new job three months ago.

Last: They went on holiday last August

Using the past simple tense together with these expressions tells us that the action is
