Faces of Negros Occidental Web-based Application 47

Faces of Negros Occidental web application also features a statistical

reports about the daily, monthly, and yearly visitors of Negros Occidental.

Another reports that can be generate by the web application is the most visited,

and the highly rated places, cities and municipalities. These major functions of

the web application meet the objectives and the expectations of the researchers.

4.2 Performance Issue and Management

Faces of Negros Occidental web application is develop to help the Negros

Occidental Tourism Office to have an active website which can help promotes

tourist destination within Negros Occidental and to give travel routes for the

guest. In order for the web application to run properly, hardware and software

requirements must be met. Internet connection is needed for some features to

function. The web application was designed to be compatible with Google

Chrome. The web application was also designed to function on tablets and other

android devices with smaller screens to ensure maximum compatibility. The

performance of the application was managed by focusing on the reliability of the

system in being usable on different platform such as desktop computers, smaller

devices, and tablets, and in the accuracy of the information presented in the web

application.

4.4 Data Gathering Procedure

The main purpose of this is to understand how the researchers gathered

the data in Negros Occidental Tourism Office. First, the researchers send a letter

to ask permission to conduct a feasibility study to the said office. After the permit

was granted, the researchers set an appointment to Ms. Christine Mansinares

who is the head officer of the said office. The researchers take also some leaflets

used by the tourism office. After the date is scheduled, the researchers come up

to produce some questions that relevant to the study. During the interview, the

conversation between Ms. Christine and by the researchers is being recorded in

order not to waste some information. After which, the researchers did the

analyzation based on the information that been gathered through the interview

and interpret it according to the purpose of the study.

4.5 Data Analysis Procedure

To determine the acceptability of the Faces of Negros Occidental Web-

based Application, the following procedure was made to analyze the gathered

data to test the research. The main purpose of questionnaires was to determine

the overall function of the system. For every criteria in the questionnaires, there

are five choices. The choices represent the degree of agreement each

respondent had on the given question. To interpret the total response of all the

respondents by computing the total mean, the scale was used.

After gathering all the system evaluation form from the respondents, the

total response for each item was tabulated. The first evaluation resulted in an

Excellent which means that the web-based Application was acceptable to

address the organization’s need.

response of 4.68 and with the lowest response in Functionality Compliance.

Reliability Characteristics got a 4.50 mean with the highest score in Reliability

and the lowest response in maturity. Reliability Characteristics means that the

system was reliable and has a desired to re-establish the system. Usability

Characteristics with a mean of 4.57 as interpreted excellent with the highest

response in Understandability with 4.68 means and the lowest response in

Operability with 4.40 means. Efficiency Characteristics resulted in a 4.50 or

excellent, with the highest response in time behavior and the lowest response in

resource utilization. Maintainability Characteristics has a mean of 4.50 with the

highest response of 4.56 in stability and the lowest response of 4.52 in

Changeability, Testability, and Maintainability Compliance. Lastly is the

Portability Characteristics which has a mean of 4.61, adaptability got the lowest

response and instability, replicability, and portability compliance got the highest

response. The Overall assessment in terms of Mean Range is 4.55 or equivalent

to Excellent. This means that the system is feasible to be used by Negros

Occidental Tourism Office.
