Activity A: Magic Water

Objective:
 Investigate the relationship between volume and pressure of gases at constant temperature.

Materials:
 Balloon
 Tap water
 2 straw (chukie or duchmill straw)
 2 empty bottles

Procedure:
 Insert the straw in both side and placed the remaining straw in the cap of bottle B (shorter side of the
should be placed in the side of Bottle A).
 Fill the bottle A with water until it reach the straw.
 Inflate the balloon and placed it in the mouth of bottle A.
 Investigate the expirement.

Guide questions:
1. What happen when you start to release the air inside the bottle?

2. What is the relationship between bottle A and B?

Activity B: Pumping
Objective:
 Investigate the relationship between volume and pressure of gases at constant temperature.

Materials:
 Balloon
 Pump with gauge (PSI)

Procedures:
 Inflate the deflated tire using the air pump.
 Observe how the pump introduce the air to inflate the tire.
 Focus on the main function of air pump.

Guide questions:
1. What did you observe in the balloon as you keep on introducing the gas using the air pump?

2. How does the air pump help the balloon to inflate?

Activity C: Pull Me
Objective:
 Investigate the relationship between volume and pressure of gases at constant temperature.

Materials:
 Thumbtack
 2 Balloons
 Empty bottle
 Scissor

Procedure:
 Attached the balloon that has been cut to the bottled water.
 Insert the remaing ballon inside the bottle and attached its lip to the mouth of the bottle.
 Pull the balloon in the base and observe the experiment.

Guide question:
1. What happen when you start to pull the balloon from the bottom of the bottle?

2. What is the relationship b/w the two balloon?

Activity D: The Balloon in the Syringe

Objective:
 Investigate the relationship between volume and pressure of gases at constant temperature.

Materials:
 Syringe
 Balloon and thread

Procedure:
 Remove the plunger of the syringe.
 Insert the balloon inside.
 Cover the tip of the syringe to prevent the air flow.
 Push the plunger of the syringe and observe the balloon.
 Pull the plunger of the syringe and observe the balloon.

Guide questions:
1. What happen to the ballon as you push the plunger of the syringe?

2. What happen to the ballon as you pull the plunger of the syringe?
