I. Objectives
Presented a video, the Grade three pupils are expected to perform the following tasks with at
least 80 % proficiency:
References
Materials:
III. Procedure
Let’s see if you really understood our previous lesson. We Yes ma’am!
will have a game. Are you ready? Look at the board, you
will see lines. Identify each and after which, I will draw 5
names in my box that contains your names.
1. 1. Parallel lines
2. Intersecting lines
3. Perpendicular lines
4. Parallel lines
2. 5. Intersecting lines

B. New Lesson
1. Preparation
Very good. Can you tell me then the figures that you just (Tells all the figures)
created.
Look at those figures very carefully, what can you see? There is a line at the center ma’am.
2. Presentation
What did we do in the game? We have formed objects or shapes by finding the pair of
the divided object ma’am.
Now, you must bring your pen and notebook and take
down notes with the video clip we are about to watch. It
is all about symmetrical figures. Are you ready? Yes, we are ready teacher.
What should we do while watching? We need to listen attentively and understand the content
of the video teacher.

Very good. Base on the video, how will you determine if a It is when you fold a figure, the halves are exactly match
figure is symmetrical? teacher.
What is the function of the line symmetry? It is the line used to divides a figure to make it
symmetrical.
I want you to construct line of symmetry in each figure. (Each row will construct lines of symmetry)
Each pupil in each row will draw line, one at a time. Row
1 will draw at figure 1, row 2 at figure 2, and figure 3 for
row 3. After you constructed lines of symmetry, count it
and then the last person who draw will write it beside the
figure.
How can we identify again if how many symmetrical line Construct possible line of symmetry in the figure teacher.
that is formed in given object?
What can you say about the figure? It has a 4 line symmetry teacher.
4. Generalization
When do we say that a figure is symmetrical? A figure is symmetrical if its two parts match exactly
when figure folded along the line of symmetry
What else? When the figure have equal parts or exactly the same.
What is line of symmetry? Line of symmetry is a line that divides a figure into two
equal parts.
Give examples of symmetrical figures that is seen in the Table, clock, blackboard, chair.
environment
5. Application
What will you do while working? Work quietly and work neatly teacher.
Example:
1.

IV. Evaluation
A. Direction: Draw the line(s) of symmetry on each shape. If a shape has no lines of symmetry,
draw an X through it.
1. 6.
2. 7.
3. 8.
4. 9.
5. 10.
V. Assignment
Look around and inside your house, find object that represent symmetrical figure. Draw and
show the line of symmetry. Put it in a bond paper.
