Ancient Egyptian Black Cat Craft

This is a physical function of art since it is a cat craft

sculptured to be a candle holder, key holder, and house
ornament. My father purchased the Black Egyptian Cat as a
souvenir in Egypt. This is used when we light candles
beside her feet, when we hang our keys in her ears, and as
a decoration in our house because black cats were believed
to bring good luck and prosperity. The black cat is an
image of the goddess Bastet in Ancient Egypt. Bastet was
the goddess of women's secrets, fertility, childbirth, and
cats. She was popular among both men and women because
every man had a daughter, wife, or mother who benefited
from Bastet's protection.
