Introducing: I’m a student in Vietnam . For some reason , UPU's International
Letter-Writing Competition 2022 is assigned as homework and also this year topic ““Write a letter to someone influential explaining why and how they should take action on the climate crisis” sounds appealing so I write this letter. I know the fact that you are not holding hostage of the U.S President chair . Nevertheless, I’ve already heard of the campaign ‘bout you gonna run for it after Biden’s prorogue. I’m convinced that due to not living to expectation of the masses, I guess that Biden would not have any single chances and it’s an advantage for you to be appointed. Obviously, this letter’s written since the climate crisis’ spreading in the entire world and I’m petrified the global warming, climate change or other things else may cause effects in our life. Furthermore, I reckon that you will return to be the U.S highest position, or even not you’re successful billionaire and yeah, you know, you will certainly have influences in kinda issues like that. You ought to take on action immidiately since: 1. Because of human activities nowadays , the level of greenhouse gases increase in the atmosphere ,absorb and re-emitt the inflared radiation that emitted from the Earth surface and rise the temparature up 2. Rising temperatures threaten food security. Increases in pests and diseases and more frequent and intense droughts and floods, reduce the availability of food. 3. The impacts of short-lived climate pollutants on public health, ecosystems, and agricultural productivity have economic consequences. After listing the arguments, now we will find the solution. By doing researches, 3 basic solution is collected to deter climate crisis and here they are : 1. Investing in renewable energy. Motivating the use of renewable energy is the best way to stop using fossil fuels. These include technologies like solar, wind, wave, tidal and geothermal power. 2. Restore nature to absorb more carbon. Planting trees because photosynthesising plants draw down carbon dioxide as they grow, locking it away in soils. 3. Reduce plastic. Plastic is made from oil, and the process of extracting, refining and turning oil into plastic (or even polyester, for clothing) is surprisingly carbon-intense. So my thought is it’s vital to restrict using plastic or if it’s required, new rules are necessary
