Jetch: AND WE ARE BACK, our top national story this morning, registration of prepaid SIM cards in the
Philippines is extended for 90 days, deadline until august 1, 2023. For the national news, here is Erick
Mustasa.

*LOCAL NEWS*

The government has announced that the registration deadline has been extended for another 90 days,
giving more time for Filipinos to comply with the new policy. The original deadline for prepaid SIM card
registration was supposed to be on May 2, but due to the overwhelming number of unregistered SIM
cards, the government has decided to extend the deadline to August 1. This new policy requires all
prepaid SIM card users to register their SIM cards with their respective service providers to help prevent
criminal activities such as terrorism and kidnapping. According to the National Telecommunications
Commission, around 90 million prepaid SIM cards have already been registered, but there are still
around 40 million unregistered SIM cards out there. With the new deadline, the government is hoping
to encourage more Filipinos to comply with the policy and register their SIM cards before the new
deadline. In addition to the extension, the government is also planning to implement stricter penalties
for those who fail to register their SIM cards before the new deadline. It's important to note that failure
to register your prepaid SIM card may result in the deactivation of your number, so it's best to comply
with the new policy as soon as possible.

Mary: Mabilis na chikahan para updated showbiz happenings, Toni Fowler's music video, "MPL," did not
undergo MTRCB review and has received heavy flashbacks from netizens, Hope, fill us in!

Chelsey: Toni Fowler's music video “MPL” is being criticized by many netizens. It is still hotly discussed
on social media due to the numerous delicate lyrics and obscene scenes about being malibog pag lasing.
The song, which was written and performed by Toni herself, which also featured the artist Freshbreed,
dropped a day after her emotional TV guesting on It’s Showtime. The music video received countless
criticism and backlash from the netizens. Here are some of the comments from the music video on
YouTube.

According to @jares8763, “Congratulations sayo Mami Oni! Ito na ata ang pinakawalang kwentang
kanta na pwede mong marinig. Ang babaw ng meaning, hindi rhyming ang lyrics, at hindi man lang
catchy yung beat. Palakpakan!”

At sabi naman ni @Ingrid xx7cq, “This is a perfect example of “Just because you can, doesn't mean you
should”

And “Toni Fowler never disappoints when it comes to disappointing. With Fire fire fire emoji” said by
@citrus69

Because of this, the attention of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MRTCB) was
called. They received quite a number of complaints against the vulgar message and visuals of the said
song. People couldn’t believe that the video was approved by the censorship board and just given the
the rating of SPG or Strong Parental Guidance. Under this rating, it would mean that it can still be
viewed by minors given that there is parental supervision. MTRCB stated that the video did not actually
undergo MTRCB review and classification, hence, it was not given any rating by the Board. In addition to
that, they also stated that if they had the chance to analyze the music video, they would mark it as “X
rating” or not for public exhibition.

- French President Emmanuel Macron has signed into law his government's highly unpopular
pension reforms, which raise the state pension age from 62 to 64. Ramil, give us the details.

Elyza: It took place hours after France's highest constitutional council approved the modification. He
apparently tried to impose an unfair bill on the French people, one that would affect millions. The
president's approval ratings are close to their lowest points ever, and many voters were outraged by his
choice to force the pensions reform through parliament without a vote using a legal but debatable
procedure that opponents have criticized as being anti-democratic. According to polls, two out of three
French citizens are opposed to working for another two years. His government said that in order to keep
the pension system solvent as the population ages, it was necessary to have people wait two more years
before being eligible for a pension. Instead, opponents suggested increasing taxes on the rich or
employers. That has infuriated a lot of French people, and the public outrage doesn't seem to be
subsiding.

Over 1 million in France hit the streets on day 1 of a nationwide strike, union organizers are calling it the
largest protest in 40 years. Clashes between police and protesters have been a normalcy in Parisian life,
that may resemble the student revolution of May 1968. “There are riots all over the city. It doesn't feel
dangerous. It's a protest against the government not the people but it’s crazy viewing”, uploaded by a
citizen online. The majority of France's European neighbors have raised the retirement age to 65 or
higher, while France lags behind. Overnight, trash, e-scooters, and bicycles were set on fire in the capital
while large-scale demonstrations broke out in Marseille and Toulouse. Protesters burned down the
entrances of a police station and a conference facility in Rennes, a city in western France.
