Fist and foremost, I would like to thank you all for attending this event
I would like to read out the proceedings of todays sessions

I would like to call upon Mr. Hussain Shahid, from the organizing team of the marketing summit to
deliver the welcome remarks
As we all know, Listening to the customers and consumers is one of the major success factors for any
business
Next is the key note speaker Mr. Rohantha Athukorala, who will be highlighting on the topic,
Listening to the customer consumer experience and the meraverse Marketing
Dr Rohantha has worked as a marketing professional with top british multinationals such as uniliver
He is also a Board Director of multiple private sector companies in Sri Lanka and also the youngest
Chairmen at The Sri Lanka Export Development Board( EDB)

Now I would like to call upon Dr. Sachin Bansal to talk about destination advantage through
storytelling
Dr. Sachin Bansal is the founder and the Chief explorer of City Explorers pvt ltd He is also a jury
member of South Asian Travel Awards (SATA)
Thank you Dr. Sachin for the informative advice on story telling as a business marketing tool.
Lets change the flavor now… being a country who relies heavily on the tourism sector, it may be
essential to know about how to market a luxury resort
Next I call upon Ms. Aminath Zaady to deliver a speech on how to market a luxury resort.
Ms. Zaady is the owners representative of Bremie resorts Management
We always say that Marketing campaigns are successful if we can convince the customers to make a
purchase of the product or the service which you have.
Next I would like to call upon Ms. Onalie Dissanayake to talk about Marketing and Psychology
Onalie is a member of The Sri Lanka Institute of Directors, GDPR Marketer, Core staff & MCIM
CIM Member - for the The Chartered Institute of Marketing. She is also the country head for Sri
Lanka and Maldives from the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK
Thank you Onalie. That was very helpful information on the marketers to start focusing on the
marketing mix.
No matter how well we prepare our marketing plans and Directives, if we don’t get funds to initiate
and move ahead with the marketing plan, the plan may not give us the expected outcome.
I would like to call upon Mr. Ahmed Munawar to give us some insight on some key information that
is essential in the preparation of a budget to achieve the objectives of the Marketing plans
Mr. Munawar is the dean of Kulliyah of Economics and Management of the Islamic University of
Maldives, and also has been the Minister at the Ministry of Finance
Thank you Mr. Munawar. I hope we have got some key techniques in the preparation of an effective
marketing budget
A picture explain a thousand words isn’t it? …. Before we break for some refreshments, lets look
into some success stories of local entreprenuers. The following videos show how Sunee special,
Island Perfumes bar, Bueynun tech and Klevanti has become successful businesses in the Maldives.
Lets break for some refreshments now… there are more interesting lectures ahead. So I would like
all of you to be back in the hall by 20:00hrs
The media through which we communicate the information about the products and services of the
business plays a vital role in giving the message. I would like to call upon Mr. Mohamed Nasih, co-
founder of Resumo Maldives to share some information on marketing and Media
One key asset that may or may not be shown on our financial statements will be the power of our
brands. Dr. Maria Frangieh will be disussing on how to be your own crand ambassador for any
business.
Dr. Maria wrote her Doctoral thesis on web technologies and the knowledge sharing. She is also very
successful and Visionary entrepreneur and the founder of Socialprise.
Thank you Dr. Maria. Your session have given an insight on some of the major aspects on how we can be
the ambassadoes of our own brand.
The personal visibility creates a higher image on your brand. I invite Ms. Mayssa Assaf to deliver her
speech on Personal Branding
Ms mayssa os a reference image coach, celebrity stylist and a lifestyle and makeover expert in the
middle east She is also the author of over 1000 articles, quotes and tips on fashion and Beauty.
Thank you Ms. Mayssa Assaf. I hope the session was benefitial for all those representatives who would
want to create a good image for themselves and their businesses.
The last academic session for the day is on the Marketing Chemistry by Dr. Sunny Umar. Dr. Sunny Umar
is the founder at Maldives Halal travels and also a co- founder of CTI Maldives
As we promised that the second day of this hackathon to be a practical session, we will be dividing the
participants into some groups. I would like to call upon Mr. Hussain Shahid and Mr. Mohamed Roshan to
give a brief on the activities for tommorows sessions.
