8 uses of electromagnets

 1.Electric motors: To transform electrical energy into mechanical energy, electric motors employ
electromagnets. The motor turns as a result of an interaction between the magnetic fields produced
by the electromagnet and the permanent magnet.

 2. Magnetic locks: To safeguard doors, magnetic locks employ electromagnets. The electromagnet
produces a magnetic field that attracts a metal plate and locks the door when an electric current is
supplied to it.

 3. Hospital MRI equipment: MRI machines employ electromagnets to provide finely detailed
pictures of human anatomy. Doctors can view within the body thanks to the electromagnet's
magnetic field's interaction with the body's magnetic field.

 4. Loudspeakers: To transform electrical signals into sound waves, loudspeakers employ

electromagnets. The speaker cone vibrates and produces sound when the electrical signal is given to
the electromagnet.

 5. Magnetic cranes: To lift and move things made of heavy metal, magnetic cranes employ
electromagnets. The metal item is drawn to the electromagnet's magnetic field, which enables lifting
and movement of the object.

 6. Particle accelerators: Charged particles are guided and accelerated in particle accelerators using
electromagnets. The electromagnet's magnetic field maintains the particles on course as they speed.

 7. Maglev trains: To raise the train above the track, Maglev trains utilize electromagnets. The train
may float above the track because the magnetic field produced by the electromagnet repels the
magnetic field from the track.

 8. Doorbells: To produce a ringing sound, doorbells employ electromagnets. The electromagnet

receives an electric current when the button is pressed, which induces a magnetic field that pulls a
metal striker and produces a ringing sound.
