Opening :

Assalamualaikum Wr.Wb. Good morning everyone. First of all, let us offer praise and gratitude to
God Almighty. He who has given favors so that we can gather on this occasion in a healthy and
happy state without lacking anything. The honorable Jury of Yadika's English speech competition and
who I also respect, the entire academic community of Yadika High School.

I, Najwa Aulia Putri Raharja, a representative of SMA Yadika 4 Jatiwaringin, very grateful because
on this occasion I have been given the trust to give a few words about the role of the young
generation as agents of change in reaching the era of society 5.0.

(Paragraf 1 : talk about the Young Generation, who are the young generation ?)

Who are the young generation we mean? The young generation is described as a group of young
people. While youth is defined as a person who is still young or a teenager. The World Health
Organization (WHO) defines youth as people aged between 10 and 24 years. Meanwhile, according
In the Constitution of the Republic Indonesia Number 40 of 2009 concerning Youth, Youth is
Indonesian citizens who are entering an important period of growth and development aged 16
(sixteen) to 30 (thirty) years, various matters relating to youth are potential, responsibilities, rights,
character, capacities, self-actualization, and ideals young man. There are those who define it as the
next generation of the nation.

……

(Paragraf 2 : talk about the role of agent of change)

So, what is our duty as the young generation and as the agents of change?

agents of change are people who act as catalysts or the trigger for a change that can have a positive
or negative impact negative impact; people who have a passion to push a person and inspires passion
in that person and those who dare to challenge the status quo as well as can cause a crisis in order
support dramatic action and change efforts. Besides that agents of change are people who live in the
future, not now, that means, they have a future vision for a better life not only for themselves but
furthermore for the benefit of the life of the community where they are at.

All of you, the young generations in front of me, are required to think deeper, analyze and find the
most effective solution to answer a problem.

(Paragraph 3 : society 5.0)

Currently, technological progress is running very fast, it doesn't take long, almost 75% of
human life is dependent on technology. Japan in 2019 introduced Era society 5.0. This
concept allows us to use modern science-based (AI, Robot, IoT) for human needs with the
aim that humans can live comfortably. Society 5.0 is an era where all technology is part of
humans themselves, the internet is not only used to share information but to live life.
Gen Z definitely knows what's trending lately on TikTok. Yes anime AI filters ! I see an artist
making a sober ugly picture into a really good one after using an anime AI filter. Become an
animation work that he usually draws. Even now there is a painting application that uses AI.
See how easy it is for us to live in the 5.0 era.

(Paragraph 4 : The role as agent of change in society 5.0)

So, what is our role in society 5.0 era as an agent of change? What are we gonna do ?

Gen Z is expected to have high integrity so that it can be aligned with the role that will be
assumed as an agent of change in the era of Society 5.0 later. Not only that, the younger
generation must have high competitiveness, nationalism and morality. As in the speech of Ir.
Sukarno "Give me ten youths, I will shake the world” implies that strength young people in
shaping and making changes. Added with Technological advances can help the younger
generation in realizing innovation. One of the roles of this generation is to be at the forefront
of eradicating the spread of hoax news, creating and disseminating all forms of positive
content on social media. Gen Z must also be very wise in filtering foreign culture that tries to
replace local culture.

As the era of globalization and technology develops, it is easy for western culture to enter
various regions in Indonesia, causing changes in people's behavior and lifestyle. As a result,
people prefer a new culture that is considered more practical than the local culture. Foreign
culture is the dominating culture, by having more sophisticated technology than Indonesia.
So that foreign cultures easily influence Indonesian culture. Society is more focused on
modern foreign cultures that make people imitate them in character, attitudes and words. All
the potential that exists in youth determines the quality of the Indonesian nation in the future.
For this reason, Indonesia must be able to take advantage of the enormous potential of its
youth both in terms of quantity and in terms of quality. Indonesian youth must have many
other innovations, these can be important assets to face the Era of Society 5.0.\

(Paragraph: HR and Generation Z; Global Competition; Industrial Revolution; Technology).

The presence of the millennial generation and Generation Z has rapidly dominated, which
presents new challenges to global competition in the Industrial Revolution 5.0 era. Surveys
show that the millennial generation is proficient in using technology. The ability to maintain
and develop the millennial generation and Generation Z is one of the success factors in a
change to continuously improve performance. The development of the quality of Human
Resources (HR) "millennial generation and Generation z" requires a new strategic approach
to obtain better outcomes.

The millennial generation is very closely related to the Industrial Revolution 4.0 or the
Fourth Generation Industrial Revolution. Where this revolution focuses on digitalization and
automation patterns in all aspects of human life. Many parties are not aware of these
changes, especially among teenagers, even though these are challenges for the younger
generation or the millennial generation today. Especially nowadays, the millennial
generation has its own challenges facing the digital revolution era (Society 5.0 and
Industrial Revolution 4.0). HR who is master science and technology and develop it so that
they have conceptual and technical capabilities that can compete globally in the 5.0 era. For
this reason, it is very important to develop human resources so that they can show the
important and strategic role of the younger generation in social transformation.

You must have heard that one day humans will be replaced by technology from all fields or
sectors of employment will be replaced by technology. This prompted the Japanese
government to initiate a new concept, namely Society 5.0. According to Yuko Harayama, a
former member of the Executive Council for Science and Technology policy of the Japanese
cabinet office, said that "Society 5.0 is centered on humans themselves and also prioritizes
human happiness". Of course, this is supported by the existence of Science, Technology and
Innovation carried out by Japan, these innovations are a form of Japan's preparation to
adapt to change. Indonesian youth, both in cities and in villages, to be able to apply many
good things in order to be able to compete and be successful in the era of society 5.0,
increase youth's understanding of the meaning and importance of digital innovation today,
must be smarter in helping to become leader of nation and can guard and humanize the
times.

(Paragraph: Become a Pancasila youth)

Society in the 5.0 era is closely related to technological progress and complex information,
where teenagers at that time also felt its influence. Like the emergence of many crimes,
collusion and autocracy, extremism, corruption, sex crimes, consumptive life, ineffective
political life. Of course, it will be a danger for Indonesia's golden generation. Character
education is one of the right choices to shape the personality of the younger generation. The
situation of Indonesia's young generation is currently in a very worrying state. Many cases
involving the younger generation are multiplied and show moral decay, which shows that the
younger generation no longer has good character, therefore Pancasila education is needed.
Citizenship education is one way to make it happen for future generations. Citizenship
Education has functions including developing participatory skills that make Indonesian
citizens active, critical, intelligent and democratic, as well as building a culture of civilized
democracy.

Indonesian youth in the Era of Society 5.0 have a very important role as agents of change,
one of which is the Youth Pledge is clear evidence of the importance of the role of youth. This
role continues to this day. Indonesian youth as a pillar of youth as well as the originating
generation must pay more attention to current conditions, youth must play a role as a leader
and generate creativity and innovation by enriching literacy and having broader insights in
terms of technological developments.

(Paragraph: Young generation who have adaptability and competence.)

The younger generation is ready to accept and compensate for existing and future changes.
In addition, increasing competence is one way that can be done so that we can continue to
grow and develop in the midst of the times. Media Group CEO Mohammad Mirdal Akib said
the younger generation must be able to adapt to any changes that will occur in every aspect
of life in the future. He said that with the ability to adapt to change, the younger generation
could become an important pillar in achieving the aspirations of the nation and state. Mirdal
said that in the future it will not be a smart, intelligent, and strong generation that will
survive amid the rapidly changing times. He said it is the generation that is able to adapt that
can survive amidst the dynamics of today's life. It is said that in order to survive, the younger
generation must have three things, namely digital literacy, financial literacy, and character.
"If we master these three, we can adapt to any changes," said Mirdal, during the National
Seminar on Independence for Advanced Achievement by Skolla, Tuesday (22/2).

Mirdal emphasized that character is fundamental for today's young generation. He said skills
can be learned in a certain time, but character must be honed continuously and it takes quite
a long time to become a habit. Mirdal asked the younger generation to have clear dreams
and character in learning. He said the younger generation must have clear and big dreams
and aspirations. The dream is not what and who to become, but what works and
contributions can be made and beneficial to society and the country. After having a dream,
the younger generation must focus on achieving that dream. With focus, making every
journey towards that dream is not tiring.

(Paragraph: The younger generation has a collaborative, emancipative, creative, innovative

and inclusive character.)

Bambang Soesatyo, chairman of MRI RI explained that "With collaborative values, we are
taught to work together, give and receive each other as a form of positive interdependence or
symbiosis of mutualism, and learn to control individual egos. Meanwhile, emancipation puts
forward an egalitarian concept that views every individual as having the same position and
rights in every aspect of life. He also added that creative values teach us to enrich our
perspectives in dealing with every problem, so that we are able to generate ideas with
various alternative solutions. Innovative values encourage us not to get stuck in our comfort
zone, and always try to find new ideas that provide more optimal added value. Through
inclusive values, it teaches us to cultivate an open social environment, respect diversity,
appreciate and embrace differences.

(Paragraph: The younger generation has critical thinking.)

With the rapid development of technology and communication as well as the current
pressures of globalization, the younger generation is required to be able to mobilize all their
thoughts and potential resources that every community throughout the nation has to survive.
According to Roro Ajeng Sekar Arum, an author of the book "Tudung Venus" by thinking
critically, the younger generation can answer the problems that occur around them. Media
Group CEO Mohammad Mirdal Akib further asked the younger generation to enjoy every
learning process they go through. He said learning should be fun and become a habit. In
addition, the younger generation must have high curiosity, unlimited creativity, and
continuous innovation. This, he said, could make the younger generation irreplaceable by
machines and robots. "Curiousness is not possessed by robotic machines. Creativity is also
not. Innovation is also impossible. So, this is the most important thing to develop," he said.
Finally, said Mirdal, the younger generation must also surrender and give thanks to God
Almighty. He said no matter how hard humans try, it is still the Almighty who decides. "We
leave the results to Allah SWT, so that the process is enjoyable. In the end, there will be
external works accompanied by a high sense of gratitude," he said.

(Paragraph: The younger generation who are able to contribute to society's life.)

Founder of Semut Nusantara Consulting and Asgar Muda Foundation, Goris Mustaqim also
emphasized that the younger generation is able to contribute to improving people's lives. He
said the younger generation must have ideals that are beneficial to others, regardless of their
desire to achieve their goals and increase their self-competence. "Aspirations have two
dimensions. We continue to grow ourselves with expertise and skills. Then, don't lose out
about our ideals for the benefit of many people, because we are social beings," he said. On
the other hand, Photographer or Food and Beverage Conceptor Sazha Busha also gave her
advice to the younger generation. She said the younger generation must know their interests
in anything. With this interest, the younger generation will continue to strive to improve these
skills. By continuing to learn and enrich their self, the opportunity to work will come. "We
recognize the interest, then we continue to push ourselves to be sure we can do it. When we
continue to satisfy ourselves and reach a certain point, the opportunity will come by itself,"
she said.

(Paragraph: The younger generation who play a role as digital talent, digital entrepreneur,
and potential from domestic products.)

At the public lecture "Accelerating Economic Recovery and Transformation through Digital
Technology Support" held at Hasanuddin University Makassar, Coordinating Minister
Airlangga revealed that, "High quality young people will have an important role in
Indonesia's economic growth in the era of society 5.0. digital skills development is expected
to contribute IDR 4,434 trillion to Indonesia's BPD in 2030 or the equivalent of 16% of
PDM. This great opportunity for the digital economy in Indonesia must be utilized for
common prosperity.” He also added that the development of digital talent is expected to have
a positive impact on the growth of UMKM digitization in Indonesia. In this digital era,
Indonesia's young generation must be able to take advantage of their digital talents, so they
don't only act as job seekers, but can also become job creators.

Entrepreneurship and UMKMs are one of the pillars of economic growth after the
Covid-19 pandemic. Online shopping activities during the pandemic experienced a very
significant increase. The younger generation can link UMKMs with the internet so that the
nation's economy can be maintained and developed.

This is a challenge for the nation's generation to be able to carry out these roles
well, awareness is needed from the younger generation itself and the support of the
government. Good cooperation between the government and the community greatly
influences the survival of the nation.

(Paragraph: Let's create the younger generation as agents of change in the era of society
5.0)

In the era of society 5.0, changes continue to move quickly both in terms of products,
markets, human ways of thinking, human competence, and increasingly sophisticated
technology. This will be an opportunity or a challenge for the younger generation in facing
increasingly fierce competition. Therefore, come on, be an agent of change in facing the
competition and challenges. Be an Agent of change as someone who initiates a change or
acts as a catalyst for a change process. The agents of change here are all of us as the young
generation or generation Z, who have a role as the vanguard in the process of struggle,
renewal and development of the Indonesian nation. Let's be the young generation that is
really needed because of the many changes that will occur in Indonesia, as a young
generation we must follow the changes that are happening in Indonesia so that we can be
successful in the era of society 5.0.
