The bravest and most stoic


people among us have inner
fears. Former Oakland Raider
football coach and now tele-
vision personality John Mad-
den is one of many prominent
people who had to change careers because
of a fear of flying. Lewis Grizzard, the noted
Georgia writer and humorist had the same
problem.
I know people who such an over-
whelming fear of snakes that they refuse to
walk in a stretch of woods or even a vacant
lot that has high grass. Snakes are creepy.
They give me the willies too.
I am among the many people who
have a fear of heights. When we go on a trip
and stay at a Hotel, like the Omni, I always
plan ahead and make reservations before we
leave so I have a better chance of the hotel
honoring my request to be on the lowest
floor possible. When the Jacksonville Omni
