What is Anemia?
Anemia is a condition in which the body does
not have enough healthy red blood cells.

Pernicious anemia
A decrease in red blood cells
that occurs when the
intestines cannot properly
absorb vitamin B12. It can be
caused by weakened stomach
lining (atrophic gastritis). In
rare cases, pernicious anemia
is passed down through
families, medications, vegan
diet, gastric surgery.
Pernicious anemia
This is called congenital
pernicious anemia. You are
more likely to develop this
disease if you are;
Scandinavian or Northern
European, have a family
history of the condition.

A condition in which blood
lacks adequate healthy red
blood cells it is caused by
insufficient iron. Without
enough iron, your body
can't produce enough of a
substance in red blood cells
that enables them to carry
oxygen (hemoglobin).

Treatment
Pernicious anemia
eat more meat,
fish, milk, cheese,
eggs, and some
fortified breakfast
cereals.
Iron-deficiency anemia
eat more red meat,
beans, nuts, dried fruit –
such as dried mango,
fortified breakfast
cereals, soy bean flour,
and liver but you should
avoid this when
pregnant.
