Sound has been proven to be an integral part of our

life. We experience very strong physiological effects from
sound. Hearing is our main sense of warning, thus a sudden
sound will initiate a procedure. Our heart rate goes up,
cortisol is released, and our breathing pattern is altered.
Hence, this is why our daily lives are associated with sound.

When the outbreak of Corona Virus started, the whole

world stopped for a long time, mandatory lockdowns were
made and throughout those time we stayed in our homes. As
a freshman student at that time, it was very hard for me to
stay focus at home since there were a lot of distractions and
unwanted noise in that setting. My usual study and basic
routines were affected since sudden adjustments are need
to be done to adapt. During those times, communicating and
creating connections with other people were a challenge
since there are barriers such as slow WIFI connection and
less oral communication with my loved ones. These
challenges eventually got me to a point of isolation but
fortunately, things started to get better when lockdowns
were finally done and everyone got a chance of hope
returning to new normal.

Looking back to those times, I realized how important

sound is in our lives. Through sound, we are able to share
knowledge, relate to others, produce art, manage our time,
and countless other facets of life. Using this information to
relate in architecture, it is no brainer that proper acoustic
application in our facilities and structure is a must since this
could impact and affect one's well-being.
