ACTIVITY 1:

1. Oh, in my youth, things appeared much simpler. We'd play games on the streets until
dusk, acquainted with everyone in the neighborhood. The air was fresher, the trees
grander, and we'd even use the river for our laundry.
2. I cherished those moments with friends, shooting hoops on makeshift courts and tuning
in to the radio for the latest tunes. We didn't possess much, yet simple pleasures brought
us immense joy.
3. The beneficial advancements? Certainly, technology has enhanced convenience in daily
life, such as healthcare benefiting from various machines, and there are increased
prospects for education and employment. However, on the downside, the pollution has
become intolerable, with a sense of nature gradually vanishing, not to forget the
proliferation of buildings and factories.
4. Absolutely, without a doubt. Our surroundings play a crucial role in shaping our identities.
In my youth, we cultivated a deep respect for nature as it enveloped us entirely.
However, in today's world of rampant concrete and pollution, it's increasingly challenging
for the younger generation to grasp the splendor of our planet. This shift profoundly
impacts their values and outlook on the future.

EXPLAIN:
1. Anthropocentrism prioritizes humans as the central or primary focus, while ecocentrism
highlights the inherent worth of all life forms, encompassing not just humans but also
animals, plants, water, soil, and more. (Source: Study.com - Ecocentric vs. Biocentric

2. People react to nature in diverse manners, often with strong emotions, both positive and
negative. Positively, nature can evoke feelings of amazement, calmness, and joy,
leading to relaxation and improved mental health. On the other hand, negative reactions
might involve fear of wildlife, discomfort during extreme weather, or distress caused by
natural disasters such as hurricanes or floods. These responses can be influenced by
personal experiences, cultural backgrounds, and environmental awareness.
3. A: You can enhance the well-being of individuals within their surroundings by engaging
in activities such as nature walks or gardening. These experiences foster a stronger
bond with nature, promote mindfulness and relaxation, encourage physical activity and
wellness, and nurture a sense of duty towards environmental stewardship.
4. The location is limited in space because of the abundance of plants. I discover
satisfaction in the sights and encounters nature provides. To promote and sustain the
environment, I will engage in eco-friendly activities like recycling, backing conservation
initiatives, and promoting sustainable lifestyles. These efforts help preserve and enhance
our shared world.

ACTIVITY 2:
1. In earlier times, nature was commonly viewed as a plentiful asset meant for human use
in farming, building, and industry, its value primarily judged by how directly it served
human survival and advancement. Nowadays, there has been a noticeable change in
perspective, with more emphasis placed on acknowledging nature's inherent worth
beyond its immediate benefits to humans. There is a rising awareness of its crucial role
in preserving ecological harmony, biodiversity, and the overall well-being of the Earth.
2. The ecocentric approach to environmental ethics highlights nature's inherent worth,
stating that all living and non-living elements possess value irrespective of their utility to
humans. This stands in opposition to anthropocentrism, which prioritizes humans in
ethical deliberations. To me, embracing ecocentrism entails recognizing humanity as
merely a component of a intricate ecosystem, where our conduct should not jeopardize
other species or harm the environment. It encompasses a duty towards forthcoming
generations, realizing that our present actions can leave enduring effects on the Earth.
