SUMMER 2011 SERVING WITH YOUTH WITH A MISSION IN LAKESIDE, MONTANA

Heading to Battambong, Cambodia....

Garrigans invited to serve in Cambodia!
We are so excited about an opportunity that has come up for us. Our friends from YWAM Montana, Mark and Ashley are now serving in Cambodia. They have asked us to come and start a womens and moms y Mary and Ashle ia ministry at Cambod serving in their base in Battambong t h i s November. They have asked David to run some construction projects on a few of their buildings. He will work on some repairs on the youth center and feeding center. He will also help the directors in planning what facilities they need for the future. The base has a large youth center and daily has around 500 students coming to learn English. They also have close to 100 orphans daily that come for food, shelter and an education. The base is growing rapidly and is in the early stages of expanding their facilities. There will be a group of 6 of us traveling together. There will be an architect, 3 construction guys, Mary and another lady to help with womens ministry. We would love to serve this ministry but dont have the funds in our monthly support to do this trip. In order for us to go we need $4200, which includes airfare, visas, immunizations, room and board.

A busy fall quarter...

As much as we hate to say goodbye to summer, theres something so exciting about the fall. Its that time of year when we start a new school year. The base is filled with the anticipation of what God is going to do in the coming year at our campus. The fall quarter is going to be one of the largest that we at YWAM Montana have had in a while. Our DTS (Discipleship Training School) has over 60 students and there are over 50 in the SBS (School of Biblical Studies). There will also be a School of Worship and Titus programs that will be in session. David and I will both be doing some teaching in the DTS this fall. David will prepare the students for outreach by teaching some basic construction skills that they can use on outreach. Mary will be teaching the students some basic health care teachings so that they can teach others on outreach. She will also be teaching a session on cooking while on outreach. Our Endurance DTS students are preparing to leave in the next week for their outreach to Spain. Mary will also be continuing help lead the moms group on the base. We have a lot of new moms so it will be exciting to help them walk through this new phase of life - parenthood. We are looking forward to seeing God change these young people and give them a heart for the Nations.

Summer work teams were a huge success! We had over 175 volunteers

come through during the summer. They helped in accomplishing so much around our campus. They re-roofed 2 houses, built a fence around the preschool playground, painted 8 buildings, tore down 2 old buildings, landscaped the facilities building, nished the siding and painted the facilities building, new siding on the student center, painted all the curbs, painted the inside of the preschool, did concrete block on the new studio, as well as other small projects. And even more exciting than the work they did, was being a part of them seeing God in a new way and getting a glimpse of world missions. Several are returning to do a DTS which is so exciting!!
